AM I on a good track

Hi all I just have a quick question. Is 50lbs in 23 weeks good? I did the math and I have lost on average about 2lbs a week. Just wandering I am a true lightweight and only have about another 30lbs to go. I know it will slow down the further I get out though..

Sad to say but the holdiay food is not that tempting so I am not really worried about Christmas for thanksgiving all I had was dark turkey and that was it as far as the fixings go no pumpkin pie or anything. I am just afraid it will be too sweet and make me sick. Sweetend Ice tea is too much or even cookies so I just stay away from sweets.

Thanks for the replies and happy holidays.

Merry Christmas to you too! I haven't had my surgery yet but I think you are doing great!. I say that everyone loses at different paces so you can't compare your losses to someone else. I would gauge it more on how you feel. Good luck with the next 30 pounds!

Thank you. I kinda think its ok since it gives my skin time to keep up. I dont have any hanging skin at all so I am counting that as a plus for the slower rate. Dec 30th huh? WOW good luck with everything.
I think you will be amazed at the gain in energy and less joint pain from the weight; that for me has been the bests. lol

I can't wait! When I read your post earlier, I thought about the skin issue also. I would rather lose slower and have little or no excess skin. I also can't wait for the energy and also not to hurt in my knees and hips. That's were my arthritis is. I think you look beautiful...

Well thank you I am just now getting to the point to where I feel beautiful again. Weight can really take a great toll on yourself esteem. My knees where my greatest issue as well and my lower back. I am doing allot better know and I think it is primarily due to the weightloss. In the beginning my energy was whiped out as my body was healing but after about 6-8 weeks it was gaining again.

Hi!

I don't know, honestly.  It's a great deal of weight loss, and it sounds good to me.  But it's a really hard question to answer.

What I'd be asking is about what changes you're noticing.  Are you seeing the changes that you expected? Resolving health issues?  Becoming considerably more active?  Seeing a change in the way your body responds to whatever you ask of it?  If you're seeing good progress in those areas, then, yes, I think your results are great!

My NUT talks about patients who lose tons of weight but can't even push a lawnmower anymore.  There's a case of loss thats merits are debatable.

I guess I'm intentionally dodging your question.  The answer has to be that it depends.  :)

What do YOU think?

I think you are right it is relative to the individual and I due see the changes in my body and spirit so that is worth it all.

2 pounds a week is great, healthy loss. Congratulations on your success so far and keep up your good work!

Hi Nicole,
I've seen you. You're doing awesome!

Dr E's dietitian asked about you this week. She also wanted to write down the name of your most excellent PCP.

"punchynerd" (Rosa) is coming to DC between Christmas and New Years. Any chance you can get together for lunch, coffee or dinner?

Hi Gina I think that would be great. I wish I would have been able to come to the meeting. My schedule has been very crazy lately. My PCP is Dr. Raqui Muniz. she is excellent and she has a good number of bariatric patients as well.

She keeps up with everything very well. Let me know what will work for you all coffee or dinner would work well for me or lunch on saturday or sunday.

Take care.
