Bloated, water retention?

For one of the first times since my surgery I had a gain.  I kind of expected it since I did lose 3 lbs and I never lose 3 lbs.  The 3 lb loss stuck around for a few days and then I went up 2 lbs.  I wasn't really surprised because I just felt heavier.  I know there is no way I have eaten 7000 extra calories so I know it's not fat.  I'm just wondering why I would be retaining water all of the sudden.  I have had a hysterectomy so I don't get a period.  I drink tons of water so it's not that.  The only change I have made is that I have been eating more salad because I need more fiber and roughage.  Could that cause bloating?  What can I do to get rid of it?
Along with that, my weight loss has really slowed down.  I think I lost about 6 lbs last month.  I had been averaging about 10 lbs.  I know it's because I don't have a lot left to lose.  I am fine with that.  I could stay here and be fine.  If it takes 6 months to lose the last 16 lbs that is fine, too.
Another thing, too.  I went to the doctor's today and they measured me.  I always thought I was about 5 foot 2 1/2 inches but they said I was 5'3".  That actually lowers my BMI and also my body fat percentages on my scale.  Don't know if I grew 1/2 an inch or if I have been wrong about my height.

waterweight gain happens a lot with me and has since i got into the range U are at now . I just think the lighter the weight .. the more the weight loss slows dramatically and the easier it is to gain or just NOT LOSE at the drop of a hat .

I wouldn't worry about it - but i would cut out the processed-food extras and the salt and the snack foods if any .

Sometimes i find those can have way more of an effect on the body than U would think from the package alone ...

It DEFINITELY isn't the SALAD thats making U fat lol .... but check the DRESSING and the stuff U put on top ... it should be fat free ...

Fortunately I haven't had anything processed or refined.  Everything I have is pretty basic, chicken, vegies, fruit, protein drinks.  I do use regular dressing but very little, less then a tablespoon.  Just one of those things I don't want to cut corners on.  I like bleu cheese so hopefully there is some protein in it.  I don't like salt and hardly use it and I don't snack, just 2 protein drinks and 2 meals a day.  That is why I can't understand the retention.  I haven't had any in over 4 months until now.  Maybe it's something hormonal.  I may be going through menopause, I'm going to see a ob/gyn next week and have all that checked out.

Hang tough, Tazz. It took me 5 months to lose the last 16 pounds. Don't go fat free if you're a DSr or distal RNY, you're 80% fat free as it is and you need some fats to be healthy.

P.S. Sorry I should know this, but what was your revision to?

According to my surgeon he lengthened my common channel so that I don't  have much malabsorption.  Not sure what that means, though.

Ah...I see. Sounds like you still have your switch just a longer common channel giving you less malabsorption of carbs and fats. You still have to take the dry for of A, D, E, & K if your duodenum is still switched over to the bile side. How have your labs been?

So far no problems.  I'm getting them done again next month and I'm watching closely.  I asked and was told that I didn't have much malabsorption anymore.  I hope that is the case.

I grew almost a solid inch. I guess there was a lot of pressure on my joints that is gone now. Also, we all have normal ups and downs in weigh****ch your sodium intake. It will all balance out, and those last few pounds will come off slowly.

Yup, I "grew" 1.25 inches about a month after my surgery.  I think it's what Shannon says.

I haven't measured my height since then.  I'd love it if I grew again...

(And trust me, I'll take the height!) ;)
