Keeping our bones n height- the argument for broccoli

That's interesting information. As a biologist, I understand that our bodies are made to consume meat and veggies - we are omnivores. But it does seem that there are a lot of alternatives to meats these days - none as high in iron and protein, but still pretty good sources. I LOVE meat and eat a lot of game meat, - venison, pheasant, quail, rabbit, duck. No hormones, no drugs, no processing plants - I'm the best "locavore" there is out there. We switched to spinach in salads, we hardly ever have lettuce anymore. I love broccoli and almost all other veggies (I hope I still do once I'm able to eat again!).

I figure you need to be moderate in your choices of meat (at least before WLS) and my DH and I were headed that way before I went in for surgery.

Good information.
