Grouchy Pouchy still works people!

Thought I would share this with my LW's

Once thing us post-ops wonder is "will I stretch my pouch/sleeve out and be obese again"?

For about the last month or so I've feel that I've been able to eat more than I would like too.  I didn't like this feeling and I haven't talked to a soul about it.  Not even my DH.  I see that my portion size is bigger than before and I scares the heck out of me.  I honestly blame it on the fact that I've been drinking with my meals.  Even though it's water it's still not a good habit to have.

I will be honest.  When it comes to eating I don't follow all the rules as I should.  I admit that.  I still eat some things like bread, pasta, carbs, sweets etc.  Yes, I eat them in moderation and I don't ever take it to the point of making me sick.  I do eat protein first.  I drink a daily protein shake or coffee.  I drink water and take my vitamins.  I really eat almost anything I want to just in moderation.  I know what I need to do but it's the fat girl mentality that gets me every time. LOL

So......I told myself I would try a few things, kinda like an experiment on my part.  I started it this on Saturday.  Just to give you an idea sometimes I will eat a piece of toast with peanut butter on it.  Normally I can eat it and I'm fine.  Even after eating one piece I feel I could eat something else, like maybe I'm not full.

So Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday I kept doing my little experiment.  Well, this morning I made myself a piece of toast with peanut butter on it.  I cut it in half and started eating.  Once I finished the 1/2 of the toast I was so full  I had that super tight feeling in my pouch just like right after surgery.  It was great!  I almost cried it was so great! *yes I'm nuts* lol

To have that feeling in my pouch this far out was amazing! I know it sounds crazy to be happy about that "tight" pouch but man that means IT STILL WORKS!!!!

My point to all this is.......you work this tool and it will work for you.

Happy Hump Day!

Ash ;o)

I think I'm missing something here (wouldn't be the first time - ha ha!)

What exactly was your experiment?

LOL.....

I did a combo of many different things. Basicly it was taking it back to basics like right after surgery......only a little bigger portions hahah! Here are just a few......

Didnt drink with my meals
Eat breaksfast right when I got up or did a protein shake.  *(I nomally skip breaksfast all together.  I think in turn that made me eat to many cals and carbs at dinner)*
Cut way back on carbs, cals and sugars
Cut out most of the sweet tea.  Just drinking 1 cup a day now
Added orange juice to my diet as my "sweet treat" rather than a cookie etc........
Added more Greek Yogurt and fresh fruits together for a snack
Added more fresh cabbage and brussle sprouts as my veggie at dinner
Eat at least one piece of cheese daily

Ashley,

Have you tried using Truvia to sweeten your tea? Being from Georgia, I am picky, but I found that the Truvia actually tastes like sugar!

No, I didn't know about Truvia! I will def. give that a try.  I'm a sweet tea kinda gal so I would love to try something that's similar.  I don't like sweet-n-low and splenda is so so but not great.

Thanks!
Ash ;o)

Ash,

I am with ya! Splenda seemed too weak to me, but Truvia (Stevia) is much stronger!

Glad your experiment worked Ash.

I know somethings I eat go down really good with no problem and it seems like I could eat forever, but other things only a few bites and I'm done!!

I've heard of people trying an experiment with cottage cheese and seeing how much of that they can hold to get an idea of how much they can eat.
