1 more question before surgery tomorrow

I put my protein shake in the blender with a glass of skim milk.  And it's really good!  But from the blender it is foamy.  I don't think I am suppose to do that after surgery right? I mean that's why we are not suppose to chew gum or drink with a straw right?  Because of the air bubbles.  If I dont' blend it and just stir it up with the spoon it doesn't blend in.    Stupid question I know but what am I suppose to do about the protein shakes now?  I can't really afford the premixed kind.  I bought a bunch of the powder for right after surgery.  (sigh) I think I'd fair better with the bus.  I can't get this right.

Let it sit for a little while, the foam will go down and you will be just fine! Good luck and keep us posted!

I don't think that foam will hurt you, it's more carbonation type bubbles I think. Also, you can get a shaker cup for protein shakes. It's what most people use I think. There is either a wire mesh ball in it, or a plastic "screen" type thing. It will get the clumps out. You can get them at GNC or Wal-Mart and they are less than $5.00. Good luck tomorrow!!! Can't wait to hear how it went.

Great question. I was wondering about this myself. The clumps when not blended makes me gag.

I had not problem with the foam from the blender.  If no one has mentioned it, I did find that many things I liked before surgery tasted a little funny after.  Keep that in mind if you end up not liking any of the protein powders you tried before surgery.  Just try another kind.  I found that over a few weeks my tastes evolved and I was able to enjoy everything I bought.
Best of luck tomorrow and I look forward to hearing how you made out.

I used blender bottles for the beginning but after a few weeks, I was fine going back to the blender.
The stuff you bought may not taste good in the beginning.  I didn't think anything bu****er tasted right and I have never been a water drinker.  But now, I can do almost anything so don't throw stuff out, you will probably be able to come back to it.  Also, some stuff mixes much better than others.  I really like Nectar but I don't think it blends as well as some of the GNC protein.

First of all...Good luck tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you. Second, NO question is stupid around here. We all learn something from each other. From your post I heard about the shaker cup and I'd never heard of that before. I don't think those bubbles would hurt anything but you can never be too careful. Let us know how your doing
