Sinus drainage and pressure

Here it goes again, I have fought it hard and unfortunately......I have lost!

Pouchy is turning in knotts from the excess drainage
Gagging from it being there
Hate for my head to feel this way
Now I have to find something to take it away.....

I want to take my sudafed but my pouchy feels so ucky right now, I am afraid it will just come back up.
Hot tea here I come, maybe it can soothe long enough to let the sudafed work ( may take this headache away tooo)

Here's to everyone staying healthy this Christmas/Holiday season!!!

Sorry Stacey!

Are you doing sinus rinses?  Netty Pot, that sort of thing?  They're important, and can give you some sense of relief between your sudafed doses.

I know that awful feeling.  Maybe some tylenol is in order, too.

Maybe force down some gentle food so you can have a little medicine?

And drink lots and lots of liquids without caff.  Shoot for 80 or more ounces - your body will need extra water with the dehydrating effects of the decongestant.  I find that I can drink unlimited tea, but that regular water is harder to get down.

Feel better soon!

Stacey as Rosa already mentioned you should be using a Neti Pot.  If you don't have one you can ususally find them at the pharmacy.  As odd as they are to use they are a life saver!  It's like turning the knobs on a faucet.  The saline losens up the mucus in your sinuses.....Many people don't know it but you'r sinuses tend to be large however the passages they have are about the size of a stick pin...........imagine trying to drain a thick mucus from a whole the size of a pin hole......not so easy.....using the neti pot will help tremendously!

Zinc is the main ingredient in all of those cold remedies like Zicam.  I use a great product which is subligual whenever I feel anything coming on.

FluPlus by a company call Heel, Inc.  It's a homeopathic product that I can't live without.  In fact I just popped one as preventative.  I keep it on my desk here by my computer and another in my drawer at work.  When the world is hacking and snuffling, I try to remember to take them.  I get mine at the homeopathic type pharmacy.  I bet Whole Foods carries them and I've seen them online at drugstore.com etc.  I always have a couple bottles laying around.  I think it's $11 for 100 tablets.  So worth it!!  I was fighting a cold for over a week but it never dug itself into me.

I hope you feel better soon Stacey!!

I actually use the Neil Med sinus rinse and I praise what it can do for a person too. I love it. I have done a rinse and feel a bit better, forced in some hot tea to take with the sudafed and now am trying some eggs to fill my stomach.

Lee, I will try anything and will pick up some zinc later on! Thank you everyone

The Neti Pot works GREAT!!! In addition, just steam from hot or boiling pot of water on the stove, with a towel over your head works wonderfully. It is old fashioned, but works. These two things work better than all the decongestants and concoctions on the market.
