You've also given everyone else around you a gift, too - because the ways we treat our bodies work in consort with one another.  We feed off of this energy!  And the energy you're putting out there for us and for your family and friends and all the people in your life, is the kind of energy we all need!

Happy Birthday, Shannon!!!! You have been an inspiration to me, but I could never or want to get up at 3:30 AM. I don't know how you that one, but with young children, it is time that you have to yourself. Best of luck in pursuing your educational goals. It takes persistence and determination to achieve the goals, but you have certainly demonstrated the ability to be proactive and go after what you want and believe. Have a GREAT DAY!!!!

Happy Birthday Babygirl!  You are exactly half my age.  I love that you have done this for yourself at such a young age.  I wish I had been able to.  You've saved yourself and your family so much misery watching you struggle to become healthier.  

One of the reasons that I wanted the surgery is because Zach is 36.  One of my main concerns is never being a burden to him.  As close as we are, I know he'd always want to stay close and help me as much as possible.  I love that now I can help "myself" so much more.  Hopefully I'm dodging the heart disease, stroke, Altzheimers and dialysis that became the reality of my parents when they were in their 80's.  I want to live vibrant and strong everyday of my life.

Kudos on your recovery, your school, your beautiful family and the blessings that you bestow on every VSG lightweight that follows in your footsteps.  Get up on the roof and shout it out to everyone that you ROCK!
