I have managed to stick to my 5 meals but boy, have I been tempted.  I just keep telling myself, it's almost time to eat again, I can wait.  And the hot herbal tea does help.  What seems to help the most is variety.  Other than left over soup or something, I switch stuff out regularly.

Yep - me too.  I need to de-carb again.  I had done SO good for a long time then little by little, it crept back in....  today at work was awful - but I gave into my greek yogurt cheesecake concoction (mainly because I didn't have anything else).. lucky me... haha

Yes, you got lucky my friend! :)

You know what...I need to reign back in my excitement for my tolerance of crunchy carbs...I do like crackers and stuff....So, maybe I should stock up at work some groceries to keep me well prepared for future attacks... :)

Oy, tell me about it! I was having snack attacks every night before bed for several weeks! Then I posted about it to get it off my chest. And then I don't know where i got the idea, but I tried chewing sugarfree gum.  That did the trick.  No more giving in to carbs for me. I will sometimes go thru an entire pack of Stride gum in a couple of hours. I love the taste and the chewing.  It's like a party in my mouth!  Sometimes I'll have 3 different flavors open and scattered around my desk or on the coffee table near me. When the fresh flavor runs out, I pop in a fresh piece.  It's pretty gross looking actually.  Gum wrappers scattered and wads of green, orange and pink gum stuck everywhere.  I guess it's better than the empty box of Wheat Thins!  The used gum came in handy when I needed something to get candles to stand upright in their candleholders too!

Hey, I get those attacks at night too...lol

I used to chew gum for staving I love chewing gum BUT it gives me such bubble gut. I would try mints but I can see me easily going through a pack quickly. Some gum even makes me sick...must be the flavoring/sweetner or something.

Way to go to fix the candles...lol

I haven't been hit with the urge to snack much, but I have definitely been hungrier in the last few weeks.  I've been having some good carbs in fruit but think that maybe they set me up for cravings.  I hate to think that I do best with very very low carbs, but it seems that I do.

I guess I know what I need to do, but I sure don't want to.  it was kinda nice going potty this week.  *sigh*

Lee, I know exactly what you mean there. I had been using apples and bananas as my "munchie" food and the going potty has been WONDERFUL!!! But I agree with you and think it makes my cravings go through the roof, so I have to stop...

Stacey, it's so interesting to find what we can tolerate post-op and still get the scale to move the direction we want.  I agree on the potty breaks.  :)

Leelee you have a great outlook on the entire process. Crunchy does not mean crackers huh...lol I sure can stock up on veggies and fruits, etc. I think you are very in tuned with your body and I think I am where you are at about "my body doing best on low carbs" and "knowing what I need to do about it"...
