Thanks for posting.  Hadn't seen this.  The insurance stuff be so stressful, would be nice if they made it a little easier.  That being said, I did get approved today and am sooo greatful!   But of course I'm nervous too and that death statistic didn't help!

I missed it this morning but it was on the evening news also.  I'm glad they showed it in a positive light.

This is good!  Y'all know I think we're all part of a movement.

I like the recasting to think of it as metabolic rather than weight loss surgery.  It places the emphasis where it should be.

AND, I love that they quoted an expert from my hospital!  I love my hospital. (Weill Cornell/NY Presbyterian)

Thanks for the post.  I feel a little mixed about it because so many people have difficulty with the Band.  My facility is doing very few of them these days.

It would just lower the American insurance  standards to those  considered  normal in the rest of the world .

I think its a good thing   ....   the band seems  to work  better  long term  for people  with less  of an overeating issue .....

Im not sure about  the statistics but banding is virtually the ONLY surgery they do in most of Europe and  also  the main bariatric surgery in Australia  and Mexico I believe .....and the results are good .
