Thanks...They said they were having some problems at the hospital...Your probably right. Everything happens for a reason. I guess I need to practice what I preach...

So sorry. I had difficulty getting the sleeve approved. I swear you sometimes can get to the right person in the insurance company who knows how to make things happen.

Whatever the outcome, you are in my thoughts. It took 11 months to get through, but I finally am on the other side, and you will be too. Keep up your positive spirit.

Thanks Wendy, I had no problem getting approved and still am, just have to find a hospital now in his area and wait for him to get surgical priveleges. Just tired of waiting but I know I have no choice. I'm going to be fine...just needed a sounding board with people who I knew would understand how frustrating it is...

This news sucks, but I agree, if they lost this distinction, it was for a reason, so hang in there!!!!!  I will keep my fingers crossed that time flies and that you get a date soon!  Oh, and maybe you will only have to take one week if you can get it over a Feb break or something?  Do you have one in your school?  Our kids get a week in Feb so maybe?

Thank you for your prayers! We do have a week break in the middle of March but with my severe acid reflux, I was just so ready to have that fixed. I know it will happen when it is suppose to happen and there is a good reason for this delay. I trust that GOD knows what he's doing even if I don't like it!LOL

Ugh, I'm so sorry.  The insurance aspect of this can make things so hard.  Especially when you plan so carefully and have it all set.

Thanks for the hugs...we don't have a break in February but have one in March. I just didn't want to wait that long because I suffer greatly from Acid Reflux and want the relief this surgery will bring. I have a lot of people praying for me so I know it won't be too long!

My insurance also required a Blue Distinction center.  I started in Asheville but ended up having to move to Greenville, an hour and a half away, to have insurance cover it.  Luckily, I found out early in the process, not right at the end like you have.  What a *****  The Asheville group still isn't approved.
If your surgeon is approved, you know he will be looking hard to find a place he can do surgery.  It's his income and practice not just your surgery so he will be working hard on it.

How was Dr. Scott? I just went to my information meeting at Bariatric Solutions last night and Dr. Bour was the speaker, but Dr. Scott was there. I'll probably be going with whichever doctor has done the most sleeves (since I'm VSG), but while I have tons of opinions on Dr. Bour, I've never met a patient of Dr. Scott.
