I need to up my protein intake and needs to know what you guys suggest trying. Something that doesn't have that chalkiness and after taste and that mixes well? I know I have to try several kinds to find out exactly which one I'll like but want to try and avoid spending $30-40.00 on the big tubs when I may not like it.

Thanks for your help.
Brenda.

After trying many powders, I finally decided that I liked the Costco Premier Chocolate shake. If you don't like it, you can return it to Costco.

I got samples of almost everything from Vitalady.com

I think the samples are like $1.99 each.

I was glad I did so I could try different things before I bought the big tubs.  Several kinds I bought more samples just to be sure I really liked them.

I like the Fuzzy Navel, Lemon Tea and Cappuccino Latte - they are all Syntrax Nectars.

I agree with purchasing samples from Vitalady.com. That way, you can get an idea of what tastes good to you.

I am very sensitive to the chalk as well!  After much trial and error I LOVE:

4 oz skim milk mixed with 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder from Walmart (stir with a wire wis****il pasty)

I add 1 TBSP of unsweetened cocoa and stir while adding another 8 oz of boiling water.

Taste:  JUST like hot cocoa and I LOVE it.  I have hated every protein drink to this point and found nothing I liked at all.

This has 32 g of protein in this one drink (195 calories) and 12 oz of your fluid for the day.

Sometimes I do 2 of these a day and I get 30% of my liquid and 64 oz of protein and I am actually enjoying it!!!

I am on a limited budget so I decided I would make do with the Wal Mart stuff at about $17 a tub. I use 2 tubs a month so spending $30 or more a tub, even more with shipping, is to expensive. What I found is that using sugar free pudding mix and sugar free syrups can make any protein powder tolerable, if not downright tasty. My favorites right now are a mocha cheesecake drink with chocolate protein powder, a tablespoon of sugar free cheesecake pudding, a tablespoon of cocoa powder and a tablespoon of instant decaf. I mix it in a blender with unsweetened vanilla almond milk and some ice and it's better then a frappacino to me. I get lots of good ideas from Bariatric Foodie. Another good one is the Butterfinger protein drink with 1 tablespoon butterscotch pudding and 1 tablespoon peanut flour and 1 scoop chocolate protein powder mixed in a blender. I could go on and on. I have so many different combinations I want to try that it will take a long time to get them all in.

Jody posted a slew of drinks a day or so ago.  You may want to go back and find that.
Unjury and Nectar will both send you samples so you can try some different things.  I personally like the Nectar products but also was fine with the Walmart before surgery and finished it after.

I'm very snobby when it comes to protein period.  If it has that real strong "protein" smell or taste I will not drink it.  It makes me wanna puke! Blah!

After many $$$ spent I found the brand MAX Protein by SEI and I get mine at GNC.  Its my favorite and I've used it for over 2 years now.  Shelley (theworldaccordingtoeggface) is the one who turned me on to it and I'm so glad she did.

Google The World According To Eggface and you can read her blog and she has great recipes!

I also suggest trying samples. They are cheap and you can find a protein you like.  If you go to GNC and or Vitamin Shoppe they will mix you a shake and you can try it before you buy it.
