Kathy,
I had Graves Disease and the doctors radiated my thyroid to stop the progressiveness of my condition.... thus I have a completely inactive thyroid and will be on meds the rest of my life.
Cold intolerance can be there in hypothyroidism. iron deficiency - I have both of these conditions anemia - I was anemi****il I had a hysterectomy 6 years ago. People who are dehydrated can also be cold intolerant.... I would have my doctor run some blood tests to see if you have any of these conditions. If so there are ways to treat these conditions. If not - your going to have to turn the furnace up or move - lol
My surgery is on Jan 6th - so not long now!

I hear you sister! I was never cold preop. I live in the midwest and never wore a coat unless the temp was below freezing. The winter of my surgery (November 17 surg date) I did not notice being exceptionally cold but the first full winter I froze. I seem to still be that way as we head into winter this year. I think it is the loss of fat as well as the hot flashes are over. I don't like being cold but bundling ujp, turning the thermostat up and making freinds with the electric blanket is a small price to pay for cute clothes, no sleep apnea and loads more energy.
It seems a lot of you couldn't live without your electric blankets! I have never tried one, but I just may have to put that on my Christmas list. Maybe two of them. Is there one brand in particular that you all recommend?
Also, here is a link to a local company here that makes the coziest, warmest hanging out fleece pants you could wish for. I usually buy them for my kids, but I think I might fit into them now myself! You can order them by phone from their website: www.grandmapants.com/storefront/c-6-pants-fl.aspx

As a child I ran around naked all the time cuz I was hot! I never thought I'd see they day where I keep my thermostat set at 77 and still freeze!

Darn it! I was so excited about these until I checked the sizing. I have to lose a lot more weight before I can squeeze into a pair of these. I am a pretty large size even when I am at my thinnest. I'm about a size 10 - 12 when I look my best size. It doesn't take much to push me over into the plus sizes. I will keep this catalog bookmarked though. Thank you!
I feel your coldness Kathy!! I was always hot and always froze DH. He loves the new me because I'm cold along with him and he gets to turn the heater up.
This is the first year I've been able to wear sweaters and a coat. I hardly ever put a coat on and never wore long sleeves or sweaters because I was always so hot.
Today at work I have a sweater on my chair and my coat if I need them.
Mine was almost immediate about a week after surgery I started getting cold and it was in August!! I do still like to sleep in the cold though.
