So worried!

LWs:

I'm so worried.  I noticed some back pain in my right shoulder blade area that started around 4 pm.  By my WLS support group, it was much more serious, and by 9 pm, it almost kept me from being able to have a conversation, it hurt so much.  Now I'm in so much pain that it almost brings tears to my eyes.
I had a back spasm last spring (before my surgery) and it got so bad that I couldn't move without sobbing uncontrollably.  Nothing could touch the pain - I think I let it go for too long, and couldn't bring it back.  It was only after a few chiropractic treatments that I started to see a difference, and eventually, the pain went away.
This is the same pain, just the other shoulderblade.
I took 1/2 a percocet (it was prescribed the last time I had the back spasm) about 10 minutes ago.  I thought I'd start small, try to get at the pain before it got out of control.  But then, after I took it, I remembered that I hadn't taken something as strong as percocet since my immediate post-op days (like a couple days home from the hospital.)  I don't know how I'm going to react, especially since it was like 80 lbs ago.
I'm not a fan of strong pain killers at all.  Especially percocet, which makes me think double - it's weird and hard to explain if you haven't experienced it before.
Anyway, I'm just worried.  I'd appreciate your prayers!

Rosa, I hope you're asleep by now.  I think the best thing is to sleep it off.  I'm so sorry you're having this pain.  Can you go to the chiro before it gets worse?  Let us know in the morning how you're doing.  I'm sending prayers your way and wish you to heal quickly.

Thank you, Lee.

The good news is that I'm not feeling the pain.  Bad news is that my stomach has been cramping up ever since the meds kicked in.  It's pretty fierce.  It seems to feel better when I get up, walk around, eat something.  But my head is so loopy it's hard to do!

I don't know what to do.  :(

LATE UPDATE:

I finally pulled myself together enough to stand in front of my stove and cook a can of chicken & rice soup (that has probably been in the cabinet for 6 years).  Welcome to my kitchen.  :)

Anyway, I picked out the chicken and ate it, and immediately felt better.

I think that the stomach problem had to do with there being way too much time between my last meal and taking the pill.  In my former life, I could've gotten away with that, but in my new life, the stomach just emptied faster.

I have learned my lesson!  And, hopefully, by reading this, you can learn from my mistake.

Thanks for the support!

Rosa - I hope you are feeling better.  I have back issues I go to a chiropractor for too, but don't have back spasms like that.  When you described what was going on, it sounded like something I had about 20 years ago that I've NEVER forgotten - but it was an inflammation of the chest wall muscle.  While it was in front, the progression of pain you described was similar.

Often pain symptoms are felt in areas that happen to be "downstream" of where the actual problem area is (in my case, my neck).  I feel it in my upper back, shoulders, etc - and that's where I carry my stress....

You may want to continue to visit the chiropractor just for maintenance adjustments for awhile to see if that controls it.  Its definitely no fun....

Rosa, how are you feeling this morning?  I'm so glad your tummy started feeling a little better after eating a little.  I wondered about taking that on an empty stomach.  If I take any drug on empty, I have to throw it up or I'll be miserable.
