Today's Outfit/When the Scale Doesn't Move...
Hi Everyone,
I went to surgery support group today (which, of course, means that I tried on everything in the closet to find my most flattering outfit...)
Of course I did the same thing last week when preparing to meet the LWs. I tried on this dress and it looked offensive. Today, I tried it on, and...voila! (Y'all know I can't paste pics in here, but if one of you who can would just paste it into this thread, I'd be super grateful!)
Meanwhile (as far as I know) the scale hasn't budged in A WHILE. I've actually stepped away from the scale for a bit because it was dragging me down. So maybe my weight is down again, but for today, I'm just feeling great!
For those interested in the details...
Dress: BCBG/Max Azria Size M
Hose: Victoria's Secret Size B
Shoes: Miu Miu Size 36 (these shoes have been too small for the past several years!!! But I'm so glad I kept them!)
Bra: Ellen Tracy Size 36D
& that's ALL I'm wearin', y'all!
(though, for the record, I did wear a black cardigan and ballet flats with it at work so that I wouldn't scandalize folks...)
So, for those of you who are struggling with the scale, maybe try pulling out that "reach" dress, and see how it's working for you!

Thanks for sharing Rosa! My scale has been stuck between 158 and 160 for 3 or 4 weeks now....it is driving me crazy! I keep thinking, "I CAN'T be DONE"!!! I'm basically following 99% of the rules except steady excercise......I'm extremely active but haven't been good about going to the gym.....I am actually going TODAY...maybe that will "shock" my body back into losing..
My clothes ARE getting looser....during this 3 week plus stall, I've officially started wearing all size 12 pants......the 14's are too big. I guess that's some consolation! I'm wearing mediums in tops (I'm a true PEAR).
I'm almost 5 months out and I feel like I'm no where near my goal.....personal goal is 130 but BMI goal is 118!!! (that feels WAY out of reality's reach at this point!)
Please tell me someone else felt like this during their journey!!!!!! Will I even get CLOSE to these goals??

It took me 10 months to reach my goal... just be patient and keep doing the right things - it will happen!
I also think I set a realistic goal - Dr wanted me 10 lbs lighter, and if that was the goal I was reaching for - I'd never have met it. I'm not saying 118 isn't realistic, just work towards 130 and everything else after that is bonus!

Peyton, you are not done!! You have done a great job.
I'm 15 months out and still dropping some weight. It is a lot slower, but steady. I am a very sporadic exerciser so mine probably would have been faster if I had stuck to exercising.
You will get to where you want to go. Just stick to the basics and try not to add the bad carbs or really limit them.
Did you measure when you started?? I bet your body is just adjusting.

Peyton, I hear you! I feel like my goal is still so far away, too, and wonder about making it (especially when the scale's not moving...)
You and I both are still relatively early out, and have to remember that we lose in steps, not on a slope. It'll come off again.
The exercise can only be good, so let us know how that goes. In fact, why don't you join us on the fitness challenge?

I've been hovering for a week now. I am weighing way too much and need to just put the scale away. I am doing what I need to and know it. I know it will move again, but darn, this is maddening.
Rosa, you look great. VEry cute dress and a cutie in it.

Wow Rosa - that dress looks great on you! You DO look smaller this week than last week.
I want to wear a dress... but its too cold to wear one just to work and then everyone wants to know what the occasion is - lol. I actually thought about it today, then opted for jeans. I'm going out tonight with the girls and a dress wouldn't have been appropriate anyway....
