HELP! Need to get back on track!

I can't believe I'm even sitting here writing this.

I gained!!! I bloody gained over the week of Thanksgiving and I'm not even a year yet....almost.

So all the junk is out of the house....I've had to scream at my diabetic mother who seems to think you fatten us up with love.

BIG WAKE UP CALL. My 100 lb mom use to be very heavy my husband pointed out. That women cam eat like a horse and when I take her shopping she wants to grab all kinds of junk. I DO NOT want it in my house and she's diabetic, did I already mention that?

So I need to get back on track. Any tips or suggestions would be great. Should I go back to "first foods"....I am freaking out. Plus like many of us....I can eat a little more now and that scares the crap out of me.

Who as gained a little over the Holidays and have gotten it under control?

Hi Melissa,

I'm still in the losing phase so I kept it all pretty tight over the holidays and didn't gain, but it would have been easy to dip into goodies so I get it.

You know the rules that worked for you before, protein first etc.  Just go back to your basics and you'll be on track before your next meal.  You've done it before and were wildly successful and you will be again today.

Thanks Lee!

I had only 4 lbs to get to goal and I feel as though I screwed myself. I thought going back to the basics was the idea. I feel so bloated. lol

Thanks Toni!

I was thinking about the 5 day pouch test! I read a lot about it in the past so now it's time to do it. It's awful feeling out of control isn't it? Makes you feel so manic.

Yes, it was very informative. I think I will start on Monday, that's the easiest for me. I work at home so I can really stick to it and the weekends are tough because everything is unplanned and I'm running around. I go grocery shopping Thursday so i can make a list of what I'll need. Feel better already. Thanks!

I may look into the pouch test. I am so sick of food and everywhere I look....there's more food! I just need to be able to look 5 days out of no holiday parties or hosting. Right now, that's hard.

So, when you lose doing the pouch test, do you notice any bounce back when you are eating "normal" again?

Sounds like you've got some good advice to get you back on track. Sounds also like the mom is a problem, any ways to mitigate that? Do her shopping for her with a list, leave her at home. Have her attend some courses at the hospital with a nutritionist for her diabeties? Your house, your rules. Just work with her on these things if you can. Sounds like she can be an issue for you.
