swinging for my friend
Thank you all so much for all the swinging that has been going on. Linda was moved from ICU to a private room yesterday. She has gotten a shower, etc and will start PT tomorrow. She will need to learn a lot of things all over, they say. I will try to get there to visit her in the next few days and will report again. Her Dr did tell her husband that this is the worst complications in his history. Thanks to God and all of you that she pulled through.

36 years old 5'7" HW 256 / SW 240 / CW 145 / GW 140
She had RNY around the 15th of Nov. All went well for the first 2 days then she started internal bleeding. When they got that under control she developed blood clots. She was in ICU for about 2 week. They took the ventalator out on Sunday, moved out of ICU yesterday. Her husband was my information source and he didn't have much medical knowledge to draw from so hopefully I will find out more details as she improves and they tell her what has happened. Right now, she can't remember any of it.

That must have been frightening for her family and friends! You're right we never expect it to happen to us......thankfully they were able to get everything under control. Hopefully she does well with her PT and she'll be enjoying her life and all that is going to be coming her way! Keep us posted on her recovery!

Thank you all. We all know complications happen with surgery, but we never expect it to be us or one of our friends. Thankfully, she is a strong woman in many ways and she will get through all this.
