Sorry for the icky post... but I have literally been "full of it" I am fine now... but this is what I had done before I called Kaiser.

After  days. I finally called Kaiser...mind you I have taken , miralax, ducolax, ate raisins, correctal, ate prunes... and still nothing. Finally the advise nurse.. talked to the doctor.. said I needed to come in for the inevidable " enema" . Well I did it myself for bowel prep.. so I did it the next morning. Nope did not work. I went in... they did the same dang thing... finally.

Now.. I am not having this trouble ever again.

This was my fault. I have not been drinking all my water... and with the holiday.. I was not eating any fiber to speak of. So.. I learned my lesson.

Oh yea.. I have a new profile pic.

Oh YUCK!   I'm glad you're feeling better!

Are you going to the Holiday Potluck on Saturday?  I hope so because I'd love to see you.

Bless your heart!  I've had this problem too!  I NOW add tasteless BENEFIBER to everything I drink and I eat 1/2 an apple and a little popcorn each day.....this seems to help keep me regular....oh yeah and the water!!!

Your picture is CUTE!!!  I can tell such a difference in your face!!

One of my worse fears so I do get my water and use benefiber.  Haven't had to go past that but I really like purnes so I figured that would be where I head next for help.  It is almost impossible to get the fiber in if you are eating protein first so you have to do what you can.  Glad you are better now.

I used to have to take fiber pills 2 times a day. Now I eat lots of fresh veggies and some fruits and that seems to do the trick!

I take one colace every day with my vitamins - it seems to help me.

This isn't something that happens once and goes away - but is an issue for a long time, especially until you can get more "fiberous" foods into your diet.

Sounds like you've got a plan - and that's a good thing!  I remember many times having major issues with it...

This sounds weird, but I've noticed I'm more "regular" when I don't get my protein drinks, and stop up more when I do... but its not a reason to quit drinking my protein!!

Hi Kristen, I have had the same problem. All protein and not enough fiber in the early stages. It was so bad, that I had to dig it out (too much information). Ouch!!!

Now, I use two stool softners twice a day, a suppository (if needed). Look at your handbook for ways to deal with constipation. Stool softners are listed as an acceptable means to cope with constipation. As we add more fibrous foods to our diets, the problem should lessen, and I may be able to cut down on the stool softners to one twice/day.
