No desire for sex

I am 7 weeks out from surgery and have absolutely no desire to have sex.  My partner is a wonderful man, very supportive and I love him more than anything.   He has been so patient with me.  Even forgoing sex 2 weeks before the surgery because he had a cold and didn’t want my RNY postponed due to illness. This situation is starting to wear on my relationship and I need some answers.  So what gives?  Am I ever  going to feel that loving feeling again?

I go in spurts, and my sweet husband just goes along with it. Hormones are stored in fat, and as fat is burned, the hormones are released and you can be an emotional roller-coaster. All of the sudden, you will probably get this huge burst of energy and want it all the time. But tell your partner not to get used to it, because it may go away again.

ive always wanted sex all the time lol. my dh said i should have been the man in the relationship and poor thing runs away from me lolol. i thought i would have slowed down due to my peri-menapause but noooooooooooooo not meeeeeeee lol

LOL, now that things have balanced out for me, I am pretty active too. But during the early losing, I was all over the place.

Toni - I'm the same way - and it has NOTHING to do with the new BF. lol... I've been this way before surgery and haven't had any changes post-surgery. 

I'm hoping and praying as I go through menapause it doesn't affect me like I've heard it can... keeping a positive mind about it!!  Peri-menapause hasn't phased me one bit. 

I have no libido either, but not due to the surg.  Even got on harmones and it hasn't helped.  Glad you have a patient partner, mine sure has been.  Hopefully it will turn around for you.  You might also check with your GYN doc and try HRT (it works for most folks)....not sure of your age...pre/post menapausal.  Good luck.
