1 month in and just gained 2 lbs??? why????
Tomorrow is 1 month from my VSG surgery. I lost 10 lbs in the first 10 days. By day 16 I had lost 18lbs, by day 23 I was down 25 lbs.. now today I'm up 2 pounds. Whyyyyyyy I dont understand. I have increased my protein, this whole weekend I was very active going to the park and walking the mall for hours. I stayed away from everything delicious on thanksgiving....... is this normal? I know I need to be patient and my body is adjusting but I am frustrated because I am eating so little, how can I possibly gain?!

the scale goes up and down all the time regardless of what you do...don't worry...don't weigh yourself every day during the first few months..it's a bad habit to get into and it will only freak you out...once a week is enough...salt..pms..water...NOT CALORIES...not real weight...don't freak..SEAVIEW...to really gain a pound you'll have a to eat 3500 calories....
I'm afraid this is just part of the journey! I've been up and down, stayed the same for three weeks, stalled, gained and lost the same pound for a week, etc.!!!
I chart my weight and food everyday and can't find any rhyme or reason.....after 5 months, I've just about realized that I have NO control over the number on the scale, I just follow my rules and know the surgery will do the job!
You are still VERY early out! Don't get discouraged! The scale does move (in the right direction) eventually!
Although my loss has been pretty steady, I have had a week of staying put or gaining, losing the same pound over and over. If it upsets you, don't weigh everyday. I do but I know that it is going to happen. It is just our body readjusting. Follow your plan and know that you are doing what you need to do and it will happen.

Remember that it is not real weight. Just like Seaview said, it takes 3500 calories more than you burn to gain a pound. I have real issues with water retention, maybe watch your sodium intake. Keep doing what you are doing, stay active, and the weight will go away. With rapid weight loss, our bodies do re-adjust every now and then. Take measurements monthly and take pictures, that always helped me when the scale was being stubborn.
