~Stands up~  Hello, my name is Cindy and Im a scale addict

My scale died about 3 months before my surgery.  I said I wasnt going to buy another one.  I went my first month or so without a scale. I only got weighed at the Drs office.  It was so exciting.  Almost like Christmas morning. I couldnt wait to get to the Drs to see what the scale said.  Then I broke down and bought a new scale for home.  I weigh myself first thing every morning (always my fav reading - the lowest lol).   I occasionally jump on the scale later in the day/evening.   I'll tell you how bad I am. I have even occassionally jumped on the scale in the middle of the night when I get up to go pee  .   Is there a 12 step program for me?     Cindy

I am not a scale addict but I could easily be. I do have a compulsive nature.  I weigh once a week at the PCP's office and don't even own a scale. When I go to the vets office I weigh on their dog scale, lol. I only record the PCP's total though.

The reason I know I could get addicted to a scale at home is because I am always impatient when dogs are slow to get off MY scale at the vet's office, lol. I find myself wanting to hurry them along...come on now...your turn is over....
LOL

I love my scale and I also use it as a tool.

I am on it daily to be accountable. I want to see the same numbers or less wouldn't hurt.

I read an article that said there was nothing wrong with jumping on the scale everyday for accountability.

Put it this way...my Mom has to get on a scale everyday for health reasons. A big quick gain can mean heart failure, so arn't we in a sense watching us to make sure we are healthy?

I'm not going to lie....I gained 2 lbs over Thanksgiving and carb overloaded. If I didn't get on the scale everyday I might not have been aware and gained more.
