Another post about losing sloooowly
Hi all,
While I'm grateful to be losing I'm still trying to wrap my head around why it seems soo slow. I am 9 weeks out from surgery and only losing about 2 lbs a week. Although I am 1/2 way to goal I'm wondering if this is about what I will be losing for the duration. I am exercising 3-4 days a week for at least an hour, getting my fluids in and all my protein. What was your experience?
Christine
Christine,
I followed this as a guide...I lost significantly faster than anticipated......you can plug in your surgical weight, then your height, and what percent of your excess weight you want to loose......65% loss is considered a "successful" surgery.....but that is a personal preference......Try it.......I would have you all set in there but I don't know your height....LOL

I hope it helps you see things from a better perspective.......let us know where it says you stand......if you feel like sharing.....I used to change the percentage until it matched the weight I was at for the the month I was post OP......to see what I was on track for......If I didn't like the current path I would change things up a bit in my diet to help me get to where I want to be!

Here I was feeling all bummed out over whether Im ever going to lose these last 5 lbs or so and the chart says Ive lost 95% of my excess weight. Not too shabby, huh? I guess I need to start looking at my glass half full :) Cindy
LOL......It's always my reminder when I'm feeling down.......we all do much better than we think we do! I'm @ 93%!......We are fabulous!

HW-218/SW-208/CW-126/ Lowest Weight-121/Goal-125 - hit 8/23/09/Height-5'3"
Regain 30 lbs from 2012 to 2016 - got back on track and lost it. Took 8 months.

Starting BMI between 35 and 40ish?

At 100% it selected the mid range for a normal BMI for me.......That's why it says 108%...........Which is FABULOUS BTW! It says I could lose 128% of mine and still be in a "normal" BMI @ 115lbs.....I DONT THINK SO!

Christine, we all lose differently. During months 5,6 and 7 I exercised 2-3 hours, 7 days a week and was lucky to shed 1 pound a week. I would be jumping up and down with joy at the thought of shedding 2 pounds a week. Two pounds a week is 104 a year. That's not a bad return on what you're doing.
Congratulations on being 1/2 way to goal. That is awesome!! Why not look at how cool that is and focus on how far you've come rather than on how slowly you're getting there.
