Jody... We need a Shopping Post!

I'll get us started.  I woke up at 5:00 AM and remember that there was shopping happening out there in the world today. I've never in my life shopped on the Friday after Thanksgiving.  But that was then and this is NOW!

I went with a list of people.... well, it turns out that I was about the only one on the list when I got done.

I went to my favorite Kohl's looking for my black knit pants in an XS but they don't make them so I had to adlib.  I walked out with 2 pairs of cords, 1 black, 1 brown and 1 new pair of Jeans.  All in a size 10 short!  I was blown away as I have never owned a pair of cords because I thought they made me look fatter.  Hahaha... it was my hips and butt that did that... but what the heck.  They fit perfectly and I'm going to wear the black ones when I go out tonight.  All three pairs for $49.00 so not bad.

Then on to Macy's where I got a black cashmere sweater on sale for $39.99.  I bought a pink one for my friend who's home I'm going to at Christmas, but heck I may just need to keep it for me!  I also got a really nice casual red sweatshirt type top on sale for $18.00.   It's very funny because I had gone to buy Zach a cashmere sweater and he got nothing and I got everything!

While in Macy's I walked past the "plus" department and just about fell on the floor crying.  It occured to me that since I was carrying 3 pairs of size 10 pants, that I'm not the girl I once was.  I was totally filled with the gratitude of the season and felt so overwhelmed with the difference between where I was last Thanksgiving and where I am today.

So who else did some shopping?

RNY on 10/21/08 with
Lee - those are some awesome WOW'S!!  Congratulations!

I too went shopping - for me!

I bought 2 pairs of boots - $29.99 at Penneys each, and 2 pea coats from Kmart for $20 each.  I almost bought this very same coat 2 weeks ago for $40... so I got 2 for the same price!!  The first KMart I went to didn't have any smalls, but the 2nd one did!

I did get BF a crockpot he wanted, and a iPod dock system for my daughter for Christmas...

I wasn't really in the mood to do some serious shopping - and I had to work today, so I had to get home...

You did good Jody!  Good score on those coats and boots!   I wasn't in the mood for serious shopping either.  I'm thinking gift cards for the people I'm going to visit in Virginia for Christmas.  I tend more to give to the needy than to buy gifts.  I always tell Zach that I would rather secret santa fro kids in need than buy him stuff.  Our vacations are always our gifts.

Good score.  The real Tonkas have always been the best.

DD and I went shopping this morning.  We are having my extended family Christmas next weekend so all that shopping has to be done before then.

I got some really good deals for DGD#2 for Christmas.  Lots of cute clothes at Carters and Osh-Kosh.

Of course I had to shop for me too.  I got 2 long sleeve Christmas shirts - $14 each and 2 pull over sweaters $17 each.

Sounds like everyone found some great deals.

Wow Linda, sweaters for $17 is a great score!   I wish I knew what size I would be later this winter so that I could get in on the sales.  I'm just not sure what the heck my body will be doing.  These last 20 pounds are like trying to get off  molasses!

I know what you mean Lee.  I can't get rid of the last 3 to get to a normal weight.  I just want to be normal for a few days in my life!!! Haha

I did not buy hardly any clothes while I was still losing pretty good.  I think I'm pretty stable now, if not they will just be too big this winter.  I need to stop buying tops and buy some bottoms because I only have 2 pair of jeans and 1 pair of kakis and they are all kind of big in the seat and legs.

It will come off.  I know because you are one of the most dedicated people to this that I have seen!!

How did the date go????

I had to be at work at noon but I shopped before and after that -- I got a cpl things for Megan, and some stuff for the little ones, but seriously I got some CUTE clothes for me on big time sale --- I started at a 30/32 and today I bought size 18's and one top that was 14/16...  I am happily IN SHOCK.  I bought a few pairs of pants and a few sweaters (cuz I have been FREEZING-- CRAZY FREEZING -- very weird for me!)   I can't believe clothes shopping was fun!  How cool is that?  Ohhh and my feet didn't quit on me!  WOO HOO!   Amy

Hi Amy,  would you like some size 16 jeans to grow down to?  What about Megan?  What size is she? You can send me a PM if you'd like.   If you would like some clothes I may have some to pass along.  I've gotten rid of most, but may still have some.  I know I have some jeans.  Are you coming to Kaiser on Wednesday night?

You must have felt like a million bucks getting into those 18's.  I remember how thrilling it was for me and how long I had waited.
