Oh honey, I'm so sorry you're feeling blue.  I can totally relate.  I got hit with the blues around the time of my birthday and was so surprised by it.  Maybe there is something hormonal that happens when the stuff stored in our fat starts to leave our bodies?  I don't know.  Mine didn't last very long but in the midst of it, I did wonder if I should find someone to talk to about it.   I think that all sorts of things happen to us as we change everything about ourselves.

I'm sending you hugs and the best thoughts ever.  Please know that I'm here for you.  If you ever want to chat, send me a PM.

HI Jane,
Hope you are feeling better today!  I know sometimes going to work helps because of the distractions.  I think post WLS can be an emotional roller coster.  I know sometimes for me I cannot even pinpoint exactly while I feel blue.  You have a lot of wonderful friends and support here!  Sending you some hugs.

Jane,
I hope you are feeling better.  I'll be thinking about you.  Do you read?  If you do is there a good book you could start to give you something to do?
Work really helps take my mind off things if I'm worried about something at home.  Hope it is helping you.

Thanks, Linda, I am feeling much better.  I had planned activites over the weekend that made me get out, and am back to work today.  Thanks for caring enough to write.

Hello Jane, I just had to post and tell you that you are SO not alone! So many of us struggles with depression, myself included. In fact, I've been in one for the past 3 years and being approved for this surgery has been the light that broke through the sadness. A ray of hope!  Your right that we know what it feels like and we don't want to go back but you also have to remember that we can "recognize" that because we are no longer THERE anymore. You do know what to do with it if it persists and you know you will persevere! Holidays are notorious for bringing those little monsters out. You just tell them your not interested in what they have to say anymore and concentrate on your success. Your right that you have so much to be thankful for as we all do. Allow yourself to feel down and then hop right back on that horse and take off

BEFORE, I lived for FOOD...NOW, I live for LIFE!
