Thankful

Thanksgiving Day last year I was fighting for my life. I had gastric bypass three days earlier and had a bowel obstruction on Thanksgiving morning. They told my husband to pray as they took me into emergency surgery not knowing what to expect. I had gained 20lbs in 3 days in basically bodily fluids. As it all turns out I came home with an incision from breast bone to belly button but I am still here. I feel like I went into a caccoon for a few months and have come out a butterfly. For several weeks it was all I could do to put one foot infront of the other. Now  I can do many things that  I would have only dreamed of doing a year ago. God had a plan for me. I am very thankful for my children and my husband without them I would have never made it. I am now 82lbs lighter and a lot healthier. To God be the glory for all he has done in my life and for all that he is doing.

This past weekend I went to a dance competition with my daughter. We had a blast. I shopped till I dropped and made it to every performance. A year ago I would have had to take a rest in between. When I got home I would have had a bad fibro flare for days from not sleeping in my own bed. This year was really different. We had so much fun. In between performances and classes. I shopped for me and had a ball trying on clothes. We shared meals and shopped some more. I have posted a picture of us in my pics. Enjoy. It is I guess my after picture. I look forward to black Friday deals especially since I spent last year in ICU fighting for my life. I slept through most of the week. God has a plan for me he has kept me here for a reason. I am excited about what he has in store for me.

Wow, I was too new to have ever heard your story but it gives me great hope for a friend who is still in ICU from surgery about a week and a half ago.  HE does have a plan for us  and sometimes only HE knows.
Look how far you have come to have a whole new life.  How wonderful.  Happy Thanksgiving.

Sometimes it is so hard to see the plan that God has for us when we are living through the trial.

I'm so glad you won that fight!  I remember you telling that story a long time ago and I marveled at the resilliance of the human spirit.  What a wonderful year you've had after that rocky start.  Congratulations on overcoming adversity!!
