Hi all. I am new to the site - but had visited a bit before I had my surgery.

I am 6 days out from the RNY. Don't really have too much to say except that I've really enjoyed this site and you folks on here seem to be a very supportive group. I hope that I can add to that mix and help support others as well as to lean on some of you veterans when I stumble.

Insurance required a 3 month pre-surgery class which was GREAT and I learned a lot. Surgery and recovery this past week has been a bit tough - couldn't do the liquid pain medicine, so once I was released from the hospital, I was in a bit of pain. It is easing now and I'm looking forward to today - Turkey Day! Am on the liquid diet but can add protien drinks and skim milk tomorrow. One week appt will be on Monday.

I'm committed to this life change totally - and will do everything I can to make positive changes in my lifestyle. I'm sure I'll have questions as this journey unfolds - thank you for being there!

Welcome to the LW's.......we are a fantastic group here and can't wait to share in your journey!  I hope you are feeling up to today as it might be a tough one for you.  Just think about how everyone else is gorging themselves and gaining 5 lbs today while you will be losing 5!   LOL.....

Welcome!  I had a slow recovery, but I can say that just about every day was better than the one before.

My advice is to pay close attention to the milestones, and to give thanks for them every day.

Good luck, and welcome!

Thanks Ladies!

I took the G.I.Jane from a favorite movie - kind of inspirational to me.

Thanksgiving was fine and dandy! I've been doing fine and will go in for the one week checkup on Monday.

Thanks again for the welcome!
