july 8 rny....want to know how others are doing
I had my rny on July 8. My preop weight was 231; I now weigh 173... a loss of 58 pounds. Last week for some strange reason I dropped to 169 over a course of 4 days, but then went right back up to 174. Wonder why? Is a 58 pound loss ok for for 4 and a half months? I can tell the loss in my clothes more so than on the scales. I think I am going to buy some more scales!!!! Any thoughts on this will be welcomed.
I had my surgery on July 21st 2009.......I was 240 the day of surgery at the point you are at right now I was about 175. I think you're doing fantastic! I think you may have a trick scale......LOL

Sounds about like me. I started at 232. My surgery was exactly 4 months before yours. In July, I weighed 183 (49 pound loss at 4 months). So, you are ahead of where I was at 4 months. Another 4 months later and I'm 151.
Scales are so weird! MIne works perfectly for me every time, but when my friend gets on it, she gets a different weight every single time she steps on it!

Yup, I know the feeling! Your surgery was 10 days after mine, and we started at the same weight.
I think you've lost a really good amount of weight, and it sounds like you feel good about it, which you should. The scale tells an important bit of information but not the whole story. You'll probably be back at 169 in the next few days.
Without knowing more about you I can't say much, but almost 60 lbs of loss (when you start where we did) is always a good thing!
More importantly, how do you feel? How are you doing with your plan? Exercise? Eating?

My date is July 19th.... I've lost 48 pounds in 4 months. I started at 206 and I'm sitting at 158 now......like you, I'm "up" a little this week.....the scale jumped back up to 160 this morning .....WTH????
I feel great and the doctor says I'm right on track but I still can't help but think I'm a SLOW loser compared to others.....Not complaining but at this point it feels like I'll NEVER reach my goal!
