We are going to Thanksgiving dinners Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Here is what I am making for each:

Stuffing (The Hungry Girl recipe with my low carb bread)
           Veggie Tray w/greek yogurt dip
           Mashed Cauliflower
Dessert (I am making pumpkin custard and baking pumpkin cupcakes)
Green Bean Casserole (also the Hungry Girl version)

So I am doing the best I can to keep it healthy. I am going to try to stick to my foods and white meat turkey. However, DH's family is so un-healthy (also all MO) and they inject their turkey with butter, etc. I may try to skip the meat all together at that one.

Haha, I'm not making a thing! I'll be showing up to my cousin's house with some beautiful flowers and possibly a bottle of wine from which I won't even drink.

I'm 100% with you on skipping the white meat!  And I LOVE LOVE LOVE roasted brussell sprouts!  And Asparagus with prosciutto!  (Often, I'll serve that along with prosciutto-wrapped cantelope .)

Going to my sisters' place.  I'm bringing a SF pumpkin pie and relish tray/cheese tray goodies.

My BF is having Thanksgiving with his family the following Sunday.  I think its the traditional dinner - I won't bring anything.  I'm just showing up!  He's quite the cook....

Good morning Gina...we always have a very low key Thanksgiving dinner. We don't travel and if we do its usually to a friends house locally here and they are very low key too.  By low key I mean we could eat in our jammies if we want to while sitting watching the game!!

I love brined turkey. This year I am doing a dry brine rub. I'm going to get a big bird so that I can have lots of turkey leftovers...hehehe. I also love all parts of the turkey, white and dark meat...yummo!!
I'm also going to make stuffing as usual (stuffed in bird). This year though I am going to do stuffin' muffin's...
Mashed taters
Sweet potatoes sliced with candied walnuts
brussel sprouts
dinner rolls
homemade cranberry sauce
pumpkin pie

I am going to up the nutritional value on each above and make it all wls friendly...I'll post later if all successful....lol

Soooo I hope you all have a great day today. Here it is sideways winds at about 70mph+ with snow white out conditions and ice on the roads...oh joy. NOT!!

Stay safe y'all....

Hi Gina and everyone,
I'm cooking:
Ham
Chicken & Dressing
Giblet Gravy
Green Beans
Mac & Cheese
Dumplings
Corn Bread Muffins
Pecan Pie (Frozen in Box - because I can't seem to make this)

Nothing like what I usually cook, but most of our crowd has other plans this year so I had to really cut back.

I want to make the Sugar Free Cranberry Sauce that you posted the recipe for a while back.  I just found the post and wanted to put it here for anyone that might want to use it so they wouldn't have to look for it.

Thanksgiving plans.........hello GINA!!   I am not making a DANG thing this year, WOOT!!!

Thanksgiving dinner early about 1 pm with the Boyfriend's family
Nibble of something later with kids at ex in-laws, not sure what time...............taking kids home.

I can eat almost nothing volume wise right now, it's like I just had surgery..........(band adjustment) so I'll be having a bit of alcohol probably and then tiny spoons of food.  so WEIRD to be back in this state.  Can't live here forever, but I can stay here until I get skinny again.............and then we'll see how miss Towanda feels.

I'll be having two protein shakes that day for sure!!!  YAY.........NOT!

:-)

Oh did I mention STRESSED.  Happy stress, bad stress, I have it all right now.  It's not just the adjustment getting me!

My family and I will drive up to my mom and dads for Thanksgiving.  They make a very "our family traditional dinner" meaning it's just like the one my Granny made and her mom etc. you get the point. LOL

Turkey
Jiblet Gravy
Cornbread Dressing
Smoked ham (my husband is in charge of smoking the ham)
Green Bean casserole
Mashed potatoes
Sweet Potatoes with marshmellows
Deviled Eggs
Cranberry sauce
Rolls
Relish tray of pickels, olives, etc.

I'm the one in charge of the sweets this year!
Pink Stuff (this is for the kids and non overweight family members)
WL friendly Pumpkin Pie
WL frinedly Pecan Pie

We have
2 post-op RNY'ers (myself and my mom)
2 Type2 Diabetics (my dad and my uncle
1 pre-op lightweight VSG waiting approval (my sweet husband)

I will eat ham, turkey, green bean casserole, relish tray, deviled eggs and water! Everything else I will avoid like the plague!

Let's all try to keep happy tummies this year!

Ash ;o)
