Newbie (Hi Rosa)

So, I've been "lurking" for a few months and I have been so impressed by what a supportive and informative group this is.  As my surgery date approaches (lap band 12/20), I decided it was time to introduce myself.

Like so many, I've struggled with my weight for awhile, had an eating disorder, tried lots of diets, etc.  While I am a "lightweight" in WLS world, I'm tired of being the heaviest in the room.   My weight has been negatively affecting too many things in my life for too long - - health, social, exercise, fashion, etc.   I am approaching the end of my 20s, and it's time for me to take control of this.

I have all of the emotions you'd expect - - excited, hopeful, terrified.  Unfortunately won't know if I get insurance approval until very close to my date, so that is still a key issue.  I'm sure I'll be posting more specific questions soon, but just saying hi for now.

**Rosa - it's your taxi buddy home from the support meetings.  Thanks for introducing me to the site!

- Kylie

Oh, and can you please put up an avatar?  It doesn't have to be your face (like Gina, above, for example.)

I don't like talking to grey people.  I'm prejudiced.  ;)

Thanks everyone  for your support!  I'm glad that I finally decided to speak up on this board.  I guess it was about time, Rosa.  It may be difficult for me to join you guys tomorrow, but I'll PM you with my number.  I may be able to meet up for part of it.  Thanks again!

And I promise to update my avatar soon / as soon as I can figure out all the features on this site : )
