Introduction
Hi all! I'm Amy, and I'm currently waiting for insurance approval...which has been painful for me! I just found this board recently, and I seem to fit in...short 5'2 and my BMI is 40. I tried to have my insurance company approve the sleeve and they denied me so now I'm waiting on approval for RNY. I still hope to have surgery before the end of the year. I'm in a somewhat strange situation, as I work with my surgeon, but that does have it's good points because hopefully he will be able to fit me in

My insurance wouldn't approve the sleeve either so I went with RNY. It didn't take but a couple of days before they approved that so maybe yours will be quick too. Mine was textbook and I have had no complications and I have been very pleased. I just didn't want to wait and fight it.

Welcome. I had to appeal with my insurance to get VSG. I had medical reasons to need it. Don't give up. More insurance policies are covering the sleeve. All the surgeries seem to work, if you commit. That makes this board helpful, all sorts of surgeries and experiences. Good luck.
