Hi Cindy!!!

1.)  Do you go shopping on Black Friday?  Yes - I'm not sure if I am this year - it all depends on whats on sale and if I need it (see - I didn't mention Christmas presents - lol)

2.)  Which sugar substitute do you use?  Splenda.  If its not available, I'll lean towards REAL sugar (usually just coffee when eating out)

3.)  Challenges/victories this week?  Victory:  new boyfriend!  Its keeping me very busy, since he lives 45 minutes from me.  Oh - and another victory:  won at the casino last night - that RARELY happens (and I don't go often either).  Challenge:  ran out of multis and haven't gotten to the store to get more.  Protein has been hit/miss this week too.

4.)  What are your plans for Thanksgiving?  I'm not sure yet.  Usually go to my sisters' place, which is 3 hours away.  Heard we may have a snowstorm then, so I won't go if we do.  If my daughter comes up, I may stay home to see her and the baby. BUT - whatever I do, my new man will be with me!

1.) Do you go shopping on Black Friday? - In the past the only black friday stuff I did was online. I don't like being around that many people, haha. My boyfriend doesn't have to go in to wor****il 1 that day, though, so we might be looking out for some doorbuster deals.

2.)  Which sugar substitute do you use? - I'm pre-op, but this still applies, actually. I stopped drinking soda a few months ago (I think the caramel color additive does weird things to my stomach now), so I'm ordering water with lemon and making lemonade with Splenda a lot now.

3.)  Challenges/victories this week? - Biggest challenge is that my boyfriend's father is in the hospital right now. He's in and out a lot due to health issues, so I'm sure he'll be fine, but it's worrying nonetheless. Apart from that,  I've had a rather good week so far. Almost all of my Christmas shopping is done, I might be changing job duties to something more rewarding, I'm getting a $300 Christmas bonus, and I get a raise at the first of the year. I also get to go to my information session for WLS in just a few weeks.

4.)  What are your plans for Thanksgiving? - These are really up in the air right now. My family will be having a dinner aroudn 2 PM, but my boyfriend's family (about an hour and a half away) are probably doing the same thing. We're not sure how we're gonna manage that.

1.)  Do you go shopping on Black Friday?
We go to the stores but we don't do much shopping.  This year DD, DDIL and I are going.  All DGD's are staying at home with their babysitter or dad's.

2.)  Which sugar substitute do you use?  I use any of them, Splenda, Sweet N Low, Equal

3.)  Challenges/victories this week?  More pouch/stomach problems having to be very careful what I eat.
Victory - hopefully we had our last board meeting of the year last night!!  That's a big victory for me.

4.)  What are your plans for Thanksgiving?  Not our normal plans this year.  My BIL is having knee replacement Monday so they can't come. My niece and her family are going to Disney World so they can't come.  My parents are in Florida so they are not coming.  It is only going to be DH, me, DD, SIL & DGD#2.  A very slim crowd for us.  My DS always goes to his in-laws for Thanksgiving.  I will still cook just not the amounts I normally cook.  No turkey this year only ham and dressing will be with chicken.  It will be different.

1.)  Do you go shopping on Black Friday?
My mom and I went for the first time last year. This year we are going to the gym together at 5, stopping to get coffee, then hitting the stores after the insane rush is over.

2.)  Which sugar substitute do you use?
I only use Splenda. I'm so glad Wal-Mart and Aldi both carry a generic in the big bags for baking!

3.)  Challenges/victories this week?
I'm having a hard time not losing weight. I'm down another half pound today, but I don't change it unless it's the whole pound on my signature. I'm not willing to give up my hard work-outs, so I have to find a way to up my healthy calories.
On a brighter note, I got a couple of super cute outfits! I have also been extremely diligent about tracking every ounce of food and sticking to my menus so I can try to find the "sweet spot" I need to hit for maintenance.

4.)  What are your plans for Thanksgiving?
Ugh! We have family get togethers on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I'm bringing a lot of stuff to all of them. (Because I make healthy, yet good tasting food lol).

For added calories, do you use healthy fats, such as, avocado, flaxseed, etc? Pre-op, I used to love a little avocado on my turkey sandwich and I used flaxseed in my yogurt.

If my calories are low for the day, I crush some almonds to throw in my yogurt, or eat a couple of spoons of peanut butter or something. I had to learn some kind of trick because I feel like I eat constantly as it is, and some days when I am really busy, it's not possible to eat as many times as I need to. Sometimes I'll add a protein bar too. They are all high calorie and I wouldn't have dreamed of eating one while I was losing lol.

Almonds are great!!!  Who would have thought that keeping on weight would be problematic. LOL!!! It must be hard to eat so often and so much, especially when you are so busy. I'm still early out, so I have difficulty eating enough.
