I just can't seem to understand it. I have lost about 35 pounds since the start of my journey and am feeling wonderful.
The problem I have is, I have a pair of jeans ( still on a hanger) that is a size 16 and I still cant fit into them??? I have to put a belt on my 18's in order to keep them on me but these do not fit?
I am so confuse by this. I bought these a LONG time ago when I was yo yoing, so I have no clue how old they are, have they started making jeans a different way now? I guess I just feel as if I should be wearing different clothes by now, I can wear a 1X shirt now, why not jeans.
Ok I am done venting now, anyone have any answers?????

I bet if you tried on a pair of size 16 pants from another manufacturer, they'd be loose.  That's one thing you'll find is that it seems each one sizes differently and you have to try EVERYTHING on in the stores.  Doesn't seem to be a standard sizing rule anymore....

Also, I think the sizing has changed.   I had to get down to around 189 before I could fit into 16's.  I'm 5'4.  Now at 168 I can fit into Lee's 12 jeans that have a little stretch to them.  I can squeeze into 10's that have stretch.  They're all different.  In Old Navy and Gap I'm still a 15 in the legs, but the waist is way too loose.  I just gave away a pair of Gap slacks that were a 14 but too big.  I never got to wear them.  Still had the tags on them.   Every brand is so different.  Keep trying everything on and don't go by the sizes.

You say you bought these a LONG time ago when you were young......if it was even 10 years ago the sizes have changed.  I wear a 9 now but when I weighed the same 15 years ago I was in an 11.  I think that as America has gotten fatter they just ajdusted the sizes down so we don't feel so fat!  That's just my opinion but I don't think it's off.....lol

I also found that I have old cloths size 14 that are just now fitting, but my 16's I just bought are too big.  I bet if I went and bought 14's now they would fit fine or even a little baggie.  It's stupid how they have adjusted sizes over the years.

Sizing has changed over the years and sizes between manufacturer's is all over the place!

I tried on a pair of Tahari pants the other day in size 2 and they were too big, yet I have a pair of size10 Emporio Armani pants that I bought 20 years ago that are still a bit too snug.

The lower my weight went the faster the sizes changed for me.  It took me a while to drop a size or two, but they were also older clothes.

I agree with the others sizes are so different now than they were when I was a lot younger.  I never wore an 8 or 10 and now 10's are too big.

I do believe I will have to go and try on new clothes (clearance rack for sure), I do believe the sizes have changed to make us feel better about how we feel in our clothing. I guess it is time to go shopping and search, these jeans I have are literally falling off of me now!

Oh need new undies, they are falling down too LOL

Undies are hardest!  Mainly because you really can't try them on....  its a guessing game.

I figure what I will do, take the last size I bought ( they were always going up in size anyway) and subtract at least 3 sizes from them. Even if they are a little tight, they wont fall down LOL.
