Fitness Challenge - November 17
Good morning LW's...
This morning I found 2 quotes that spoke to me...ok, just read them but I said "AH HA!!!" I like 'em
In learning to know other things, and other minds, we become more intimately acquainted with ourselves, and are to ourselves better worth knowing. - Philip Gilbert Hamilton
What progress, you ask, have I made? I have begun to be a friend to myself.
Hecato, Greek philosopher
So keeping with the theme of the quotes. What "things" have your learned that brought you closer to you and to be a friend to yourself? How do you apply this to your fitness routine?
My biggest "thing" is to reach out more for support and guidance in times of turmoil (big and small) In relation to fitness, I have researched and dove into topics to educate myself on my new body and what I can do to maximize my efforts. For example, I do weight training a bit different than most with little/no rest in between reps. Also, I expand and try new techniques and find new boundaries.
Back to what is the plan today. Well, I have cardio today only. I so gotta update my music too...
What are your plans?
Whatever you do stay safe, warm, and hydrated!!! Oh, yah, and have FUN!!!

Good quotes! Hmmm?
I guess I've learned that regardless of what I weigh, I am who I am. I like "me" for the most part, but also see the same old faults that have been there forever. I'm still working on getting control of those without being too hard on myself. Regarding fitness, I have found that I know myself well enough to know what motivates me when it comes to fitness. I know I need a workout buddy and I know I need new toys now and then. For example, every 4 months or so I buy new running shoes, I just ordered a Garmin forerunner GPS watch to track my distance/time for runs, I'm researching fitness balls, etc. I hate shopping in general, but I love to study and learn about new health products/equipment, then make a wise purchase.
Today's fitness consisted of running 4 miles at the hs track. I was supposed to do 6, but I couldn't find my ipod. I hate running around in circles counting with no other distractions. So, 4 is all I got in, but I'm cool with that. I will need to do 5 tomorrow to stay on schedule. Then 11 on Saturday (ugh).
