Shammy i feel so sad for you...it's a great loss but it does not mean you do not have support...I would be willing to bet that all of us lightweights can help you through this process....each of us has something to offer the others and we have many who are far along and can light the path for us...
don't worry....you are in good hands here and we will not leave you...in the long run who can you count on....your lightweight friends....SEAVIEW

Thank you all so much for your kind words and insight!  This past year has been the most amazing journey ever and I'm absolutely willing to do whatever it takes to be certain that I have continued success.  I will certainly look for other sources of local support---through my monthly support groups, the social worker and dietitian.  My insurance won't pay for me to see the SW or the dietitian but I feel that if necessary it would be a worthwhile investment in my overall health and well-being.

Try contacting the NY state agency that Board Certifies DR's.  In MN they have the home adresses of all board certified physicians available to the public.  Maybe you can contact him via snail mail to find out where he is moving his practice to... or they will have that information available to you..just a thought......

Shammy-  Sorry that you had this type of experience.  If this NP is working in a WL specialty clinic she should have been properly educated in this specialty area prior to working independently with clients.  Someone recommended a PCP,  I am a NP (family practice and nurse midwifery) and while WLS is not my specialty if I had a client that I knew was coming to me I would contact this client in advance and ask some questions that I could research in advance.  Additionally, I would be honest with my client and let them know that I might not always have the answer for them right then but that I would do my best to find the answer and get back to them.  If an urgent issue that is what consultation with a WL surgeon or specialist if for.  My point is if you choose to go to a PCP or NP that does general practice then contacting them ahead of time and asking to speak with the provider beforehand might make for a better experience.

Shammy,  I'm so sorry this happened to you.  What a damper on your incredibly successful recovery!
