Fitness Challenge - November 14
LW's....the weather here is overcast and not really inviting to go outside. So it would be off to the gym to work out today.
Here is your fitness question today:
I need extra motivation and support to get my arse out there and workout. What do you do to pull yourself off the "I'm not moving" step to actually working out? Sometimes I just get dressed and go and other times I have to coach myself through it. One time I made it all the way to the gym (around the corner from my house...not a long jaunt) and told myself that I'll just do 10 min and go home...lol
I ended up working it harder at higher intensity for 40+ min...great workout...
So, my challenge is to get back into the routine I had months ago. I can tell you that sitting here typing is much more inviting than getting up getting dressed. I will go and share later what I did but how do you combat those moments?
What are your plans today?
Make it a great day LW's...

Got in a 7 mile run this morning. My running buddy and I met up with another local runner we met through The Daily Mile. It was really fun to go with someone new and we actually got a really good time.
For motivation, I have signed up for 1/2 marathons every three months and have created a training schedule. BUT, I think the thing that keeps me going the most is to have a fitness partner. If she and I weren't training together, I'm pretty sure I would talk myself out of working out half the time.
Hope everyone has an awesome day!

Just this last April, I was walking the curves on the track and jogging the straight stretches AND huffing and puffing the whole time. I just worked up a bit at a time. There are some great training programs out there. Check out the Hal Higdon trainings at http://www.halhigdon.com . He has programs for every kind of race. His trainings are what we have based ours on. We try to run 4 days a week, but only get in 3 some days. I've also heard that you should only increase your distance by 10% each week or else you are more prone to injury. Not sure if I've completely followed this rule, but it totally makes sense to me. YOU CAN DO IT!!! :)

Hello Team,
I walked the lake this morning, 3+ miles, then did an afternoon of mall walking. My ankle is killing and I can't wait to get to my chiropractor at 8am tomorrow. I hope he can fix me up. :(
Motivation. I've always been one to sit on the couch until the urge to exercise passed. What got me going was to ask Zach to come home and work out with me last summer. Now I ask friends to walk with me as often as possible. I have someone at work to walk with daily at lunchtime and others who walk the lake and hike with me. The days I'm not supervised by others are tougher for me.
Is there someone in your neighborhood that might be a gym partner for you Diana?
