1.  What do you feel you've done right this week towards moving closer to your goal?
I really dont feel as if I have done much right this week, I am still trying though.
2.  Did you have any big challenges?
A few huge ones, actually eating will help, trying to get in all my fluids.

3.  Any big challenges ahead of you this week?
Getting the laundry and house ready for a long trip to Indiana and Kansas. Gonna be a hard one.
4.  How are you feeling about yourself?  Are you remembering to love yourself on the journey?
I really dont want to whine and seem like a baby so I will leave this question out, both portions of it.

Stacey, we all have tough times and I think it really helps to talk about it.  Please don't ever feel like you're whining.  We're a pretty safe bunch around here.

#1, there have to be some things you did right this week.  They may be a little more difficult to find, but i bet they're there.  It doesn't all have to be about food etc.

Are you doing better with your fluids?

When are you leaving on your trip?  How long will you be gone?  Do you need help from others in figuring out how to manage the trip and be successful with food, fluids, vitamins etc?  Please just ask if you do.  Lot's of people here travel and will have great tips for you.

Sending hugs your way.  Good luck with the laundry and house preparation.

Toni, you had a phenomenal week.   Victory with exercise, protein, fluids.  That's wonderful.

Hurray on having no big challenges ahead of you so that you can just enjoy everything.

Now about those jeans.... way to go!!!  I was so excited to read that.

Ok, so your body is comfortable where it is, but you're not about to stop.  I bet you're right about starting to really drop the pounds when you hit the 170's.  i can't wait to watch you drop!!  :)

1.  What do you feel you've done right this week towards moving closer to your goal?

I tried increasing the protein (protein shakes) and have been using my fitness pal to track meals so I could be accountable for calories/fat/carbs/protein. Last Sunday i had lost 2 pounds but was back up today ,but feel it was due to being dehydrated.

2.  Did you have any big challenges?
Was off for a long 4 day weekend and did eat away from home more. tried to eat protein first and not get sidetracked with the carbs.

3.  Any big challenges ahead of you this week?
Yes, a young lady (26 yo) died this weekend, she had her first baby last weekend and had a heart attack. She had the lap band about two weeks before i had my RNY. I am not sure what exactly happened but though we are a large company we are like a family. I dread the coming week as I know it will be sad, much will be said about her weight, etc. Right now, I 'm numb but as I write this the tears are falling. it just seems so sad .......
maybe thats what i needed, just to let it out........sorry gang

4.  How are you feeling about yourself?  Are you remembering to love yourself on the journey
Yes, I do remember to love myself, maybe too much, new clothes ....etc

Let's make this week count!
Yes, I am going to resist the stress induced eating that will try to get me at work this week!

 Hugs Brenda.

I'm sure that the two pounds are from the sodium in the food from eating out a lot.  My scale always goes up after eating out more than one meal in a week.  it will probably be gone any day now.  Good job eating protein first!!

I'm so very very sorry to read about the young mother that lost her life.  Don't ever be sorry about sharing your grief so that we know what's going on with you.  Managing your week may be tough for you because events like this are always surrounded by food.  Please be sure to plan your food, have things with you at work that are healthy for your pouch so that you don't get sick.  Let us know how you're doing and how we can support you.

LeeLee!??!!! I LOVE THAT!  I'm curious - was there anyone who used to call you that once?  Or is it your own personal nickname?  It's really adorable and sweet.

On to your questions:

1.  What do you feel you've done right this week towards moving closer to your goal?
This was not a good week for my holiday challenging.  I didn't lose ANY weight at all.  Wait - I'm answering #2.

Um, the good things I did this week are that I kept myself focused on eating properly (this hasn't really been a challenge for me yet) and I kept up my exercise, despite my horrible lack of energy and ridiculous schedule.

2.  Did you have any big challenges?
Yes!  TOM came super early, and didn't lose any weight at all.  I HATE THAT FEELING.  Grrr.  Also, my energy was almost nil, but I plowed through somehow.

Oh, and work has been insane.  But I love my job, so it's not a burden.  Just a challenge.

3.  Any big challenges ahead of you this week?
Hmmm...lemme see...not that I know of?  But the way my life works is that there are always challenges.  Something always comes up.  Depending on the challenge, this can even be a bit exciting...

The main challenge is to try my darnedest to get that scale moving again!  (in the right direction).  I've set an ambitious HC goal, and I want to meet it.

4.  How are you feeling about yourself?  Are you remembering to love yourself on the journey?
I took a picture of myself for Jody's post today, and I hate it!  I don't feel like I look as slim in pictures (especially the ones taken from my laptop) as I do in person, which makes me second-guess my self-image.  I'm like, "why do I look so much better in the mirror?  Which "me" do people see?"  These are not fun questions to ask.

Also, a friend of mine reminded me that I need to put some attention into my dating life, which is, of course, connected to this question.  Here's a funny (somewhat tangential, yet related, story):

At church today, I was running late for our forum (it goes betwen the morning services), because I was busy talking to people who needed some help.  Anyway, I step into the forum, which is on "Family Systems" (an area of specialty for me).  So, when I walk into the room, one of our assistant ministers, who was leading the forum, says "Oh, and here's Pastor, a perfect example of a masochist."

I was like, "Can't I just walk into a room?" and he was like, "have you forgotten who you are?" which everyone thought was very funny.

Anyway, he then went on to explain how two things:

1.  The deepest human need is to be in relationship, and we will do whatever it takes to be in them.
and
2.  In relationships, masochists feel the need to experience pain.

"Like Pastor!" he said.

Great.

Trouble is, (setting aside the issue of his professional ethics) he's right!!!  I think that this is part of why I am having trouble getting myself to date.  Not loving myself enough (which is a sin!) and not wanting to fall into those pain habits.  Yuck yuck yuck.

Well, that may seem off-topic.  But it's not for me, since I need to be so goal-oriented.  And so now you're going to hear me say it:  when I complete this goal (the HC) I will move on to my next goal, which is to start dating again.  Got it?  OK.  Good.  :)

Wow Rosa, you had quite a morning!

First let me say that my step daughter used to call me leelee.  My God Daughter  and her mom call me Fabuleelee.  So leelee became how I think about my sweet inner guidance system.  It's leelee that reminds me to treat myself well and talk nice to myself.  :)

Hey, this challenge is about more than the number on the scale.  Aren't you the one that dropped 11 pounds in 2 weeks?  Sometimes the body just wants a rest to catch up.  I'm not surprised you were more tired this week.  Maybe you need some rest to revitalize so that you can jump back into the game?  You are incredibly active and take great care of yourself.  Watch the signals that your body throws out to you sweetie.

Oh jeeze, that dating thang can be so difficult to traverse.  Now as far as being a masochist, there are all sorts of varying degrees of where we are.  I'd rather think of it as the adored one or the adorer.  I've always been more comfortable being the adorer.  That doesn't mean it's masochistic, just I would rather be putting the attention out there.  But as i've gotten older, i think it might be great to try on being the adored one and se how it fits.

OK, so I'm going to watch for the Dating Queen as soon as this holiday challenge is over, but that said, if a great person walks into your path, think of it as a message from your favorite pal up there.  :)

Hi Lee, Hi all!!

1.  Lost 1.5 lbs, after a 2 wk stall or slow down or whatever.  Hope it continues.  Down to 166...goal 154-160 by years' end.  So there is still hope, maybe.  6 lbs in 6 wks may not be achieveable...but I gonna keep at it.  I had stopped a.m. and p.m. snacks, and was getting so hungry.  Brought grapes and a Carbmaster yogart today to see if that helps.

2.  I went to a 4 day bridge tournament.  The challenge was eating out every meal, and then resisting all the "goodies" out on the tables....sweets and desserts, desserts, cookies, pies, muffins, candy, etc.   I only sampled (1-2 bites) twice, choose fruit twice.  So by resisting the bad carbs I was meeting holiday goals.  Also made fairly good choices and watched quanities esp when eating out.  DH and I share one entry...that was just about right to keep my calorie count in check.

3.  Challenge this week.  Moved to a new office location, no cafeteria to eat in.  Mainly fast food options in new area...Krystal and Taco Bell.  But there is a rest. called the Cupboard, across the street and has home-style cooking....meats and veggies... but no traffic light or turn lane to help cross, so don't know how I can make it over there on foot. I may try today, and I may end up having to bring my lunch, which would be a real pain to start doing again...we'll see how it goes this week.

4.  Feeling good about myself, proud of how far I have come and how I look in my clothes.  And I too have loose skin and surprisingly it is not bothering me!!

Have a good week leelee, and all.  Love you all.

Jane!!  What a victory you had at the bridge tourney.  It must have been difficult with all that food laying around.  Sampling one or two bites and selecting fruit.  Kudos!  How cool that DH is willing to share an entre with you.  Love that and I always ask friends to do that with me.

I bet you can shed those 6 pounds!  I know, i know, look who's talking.  It's just taken me two freakin weeks to shed one pound and I still have a lot to shed.  But, I bet YOU can do it!

Sorry about the lunch venue.  I take my lunch everyday to keep it simple.  If I don't have my lunch, I have a place that's a 20 minute walk away that has good chicken salad and I generally walk past there daily at lunch.  I use my lunchtime to walk 30-40 minutes so I like bringing something that I can eat at my desk in just a few minutes.   You'll figure it out.

I love reading that you're feeling good about yourself!!  :)
