Holliday Challenge - Week of November 14th
Hi Lee,
1. What do you feel you've done right this week towards moving closer to your goal?
I tried to pay more attention to what I put in my mouth and really increase my fluids.
2. Did you have any big challenges?
Problems at work are stressing me out and I am a stress eater and carbs go down so easily. I'm really trying to watch them and not go overboard.
3. Any big challenges ahead of you this week?
Three very important meetings at work this week. Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. These will be full of stress and hopefully will end the work stress when the last one is held.
4. How are you feeling about yourself? Are you remembering to love yourself on the journey? I feel good about myself and my journey.
I did increase my fluids like I planned last week and dropped the 2 pounds that I knew were water weight. I also lost 1/2 oz this week so I'm moving in the right direction again

Wow Linda, down 2.5 pounds this week? That's fantastic!!
Three big stress meetings this week. That's a lot! Are they lunch meetings? If yes, how will you take care of yourself? Group settings like that can be tough to navigate.
Congratulations on upping your fluids. I have been trying to do that as well. I've had more successful days this week but really want to get to where it's 7 successful fluid days a week.
I think you're doing great. Don't forget to write and tell us how the meetings are going please.

love this post Lee! You are such an inspiration.
1. What do you feel you've done right this week towards moving closer to your goal?
I am down to 153#, I really can't believe it! For a while post op I felt like I could eat anything I wanted and now I am really focusing on eating the right food, like I did pre-WLS when I was being good. I have upped my protein and lowered my carbs and increased my exercise.
2. Did you have any big challenges?
Went into the hospital with chest pain (already posted), so relieved my heart is strong. I did excellent walking on the treadmill for my stress echo outdoing all the men who tested that day who were my exact age!
3. Any big challenges ahead of you this week?
Work is always challenging because of the long hours and the pace. The "pain" I have been having for the last 2-1/2 weeks has always occured at work so I am sure it is somewhat stress induced even though I love my job! I want to take time to eat slowly and get all my fluid and vitamins in.
4. How are you feeling about yourself? Are you remembering to love yourself on the journey?
I am feeling the best about myself. I look in the mirror now and only see a little tummy, I am happy with everything else. I actually feel skinny. I am not losing my hair anymore which is nice also.
Let's make this week count!
I love reading everyone else posts! Hope everyone has a good week! Sandi

Hi Sandi,
You had a lot of physical challenges last week. Congratulations on navigating them and even shedding a few pounds in the process. I'm really happy that your heart is strong.
Good job on your protein, carbs and increased exercise. How wonderful to achieve all of that in the same week! YAY!
Good luck at work this week. I hope that you don't have anymore pain episodes.
Isn't it amazing that you can say that you feeling the best about yourself!! That is such a gift and I love reading that you feel skinny.
Hey gang, did you all read that Sandi isn't losing hair anymore? YAY and encouraging for the rest of us!! :)

1. What do you feel you've done right this week towards moving closer to your goal?
I stayed on track this week with my Drs plan. Got in all my protein and water. Am down to 171 this morning.
2. Did you have any big challenges? I traveled again this week, this time staying with friends. I explained my surgery and they were very supportive. But I did have to find some new things to eat while out. Planning ahead helps, but sometimes doesn't cover ever situation. Who would think over a 3 hr drive there would be no subways or taco bells?
3. Any big challenges ahead of you this week? Going out of town again Tuesday, coming home Wednesday night. The meeting on Wednesday includes lunch but I imagine I will be able to find stuff to eat.
4. How are you feeling about yourself? Are you remembering to love yourself on the journey?
I have almost lost my first goal of 50lbs, what a horse feed sack weighs. I feel very good about that. One of my main motivators was to not have to carry the equivalent of a 50lbs feed sack around all the time.

Hi Price,
I think it's great that you are comparing your weight loss to the feed bags because you are so used to carrying them around. Amazing that you walked around with that on your body, isn't it?
171 !!! Your weight loss is happening so quickly. I know you're thrilled.
Good job following your plan while on the road. So often we get derailed when taken out of our own kitchen. You should be really proud of yourself! :)
