Holliday Challenge - Week of November 14th

I'll get us started.
1. What I've done right this week is to be willing to try new things. For a few days I've lowered the carbs and upped the protein. I haven't been afraid to eat when I was hungry and I didn't worry as much about calories as I have. I still kept them under 1000 but didn't feel guilty about it. My two week plateau that went from 169-170 over and over seems to have broken this morning because I was at 168.8. TWO ounces. YAY! Whoever thought I would cheer about two freaking ounces. :)
2. My biggest challenge last week is that my back keeps going out of alignment (due to New Orleans accident) and it was causing a throbbing ankle. I walked daily but not as much as pre-accident.
3. Upcoming challenge is that I have an old friend coming to visit for 4 days. He's staying at a local resort but I know that we will eat all of our meals together and he'll want to go to fancy kinda places. I just have to remember to order an appetizer or protein and plan activities where we'll be walking the streets of San Francisco or the beach so that I'll be sure to burn calories. I also plan to use the gym at the resort prior to spa time.
4. I've been focusing on good self love. I try to remember to stand in front of the mirror, smile at myself and say sweet things like.... I love you leelee and tell myself I'm proud of me and looking good!

With the help of my OH family and YOU...I am going to focus on me this week. It'll be hard since when I do, little 'tests' pop back up but you know what?? MY DH is here and I've put him in charge of DS1. This week's gotta be for me.
1. The one thing I have done right this week is upped my protein drinks. Since the weather is colder the drinks are getting hotter and allows me to make mock latte's and hot cocoas that are packed with high protein. If it weren't for those daily I'd be passed out in a hospital for sure. I did touch upon 130.6 this week and my goal was to be between 125-130 so I'm closer for sure...
2. I will pass on answering the "big challenges" question this week. I already posted that last night
3. I want to pass on this one too but will answer. My biggest challenge is to get back into a routine. With the help of DH I believe both him and I can get there.
4. You are killing me with these questions....lol....I want to pass but I will answer. I will stand and look at myself in the mirror and say "Self...Leelee says I'm beautiful and a great person!!!" LOL Okee okee...I'll say "Diana you are a strong and beautiful woman who can accomplish ANYTHING she wants damned it!!" Hows that?? better??
I will make this week count. I can only stay down so long.

1. What do you feel you've done right this week towards moving closer to your goal? I've been doing pretty well this week. I met all my fitness goals for the week and have done well at trying to eat fewer carbs. I lost another pound, so I am only 5 pounds from my goal of having lost 100 pounds total!
2. Did you have any big challenges? I have had a rough week. Work and personal life have been a bit crazy. I made some stupid food purchases (like a fudge kit), but have managed to stay away from them for the most part!
3. Any big challenges ahead of you this week? I think I will have the same challenges this coming week. I need to focus on what my goals are and stick to the plan!
4. How are you feeling about yourself? Are you remembering to love yourself on the journey? I'm feeling pretty good about myself right now. I am noticing positive body changes because of the running and other fitness I'm doing. I'm getting stronger. I notice a little loose skin, but it really doesn't bug me too much. I'm surprised and glad it doesn't. I have a hard time loving (and nurturing) myself. I tend to let everyone else do what they want, but I find I'm sacrificing less and less lately. I like doing things for myself.
Carlea, you are so amazingly balanced these days. I think that your fitness really helps keep you balanced and on track. Now step away from that fudge kit before someone gets hurt. The holidays make us do ridiculous things!
Can you believe you're only 5 pounds from your 100 pound goal? That is simply amazing. You keep it up and you'll be there before you know it. :)
