3 weeks post op with diet questions
Hi everyone!!! I'm 3 weeks post op and I have been very strict about sticking to my post op diet but I see that some of you have improvised a bit and still have had great success. How terrible is it if I eat the Greek Yobani fruit flavored yogurt? Is that instant sabotage to my weight loss goals? Ive lost 20 pounds so far and don't want to do anything to mess it up. I have been buying the plain yogurt and adding a scoop of protein but it doesn't taste the best. Just asking, if it's really too much sugar in the fruit flavored ones I guess I'll keep doing what I'm doing. Also, I had a smoothie king smoothie yesterday, the Gladiator, 45 grams of protein, low carb, but it had black cherry, is that sabotage???? I've got 40 pounds to go...I'm 5'9, 184 pounds...thanks in advance
If you are allowed to eat yogurt then you can have greek yogurt. Dont add extra protein to it though, Chobani has anywhere between 12-20g of protein per small container, just look at the label.( I always buy the plain and mix in the jelly) Personally I do not eat the premixed greek because of the sugar content. I have Polaner SF jelly here or even frozen fruit that I add to it. The jelly is really goo though :)
Im not sure if it would sabbotage your weight loss, if anything it will increase your protein numbers per day. Im not sure about the smoothie, I have had Tropical Smoothie and get them made with splenda and protein and have had no issues with them.

I think it is the sugar content with the pre-mnixed ones. Any sugar free jelly or no sugar frozen fruit should be fine. I also pureed strawberrys and used that for early on. You might also try adding SF jello instant Cheesecake pudding mix to the plain yogurt. Hummm, I might have that for a snack today.

The Polaner all fruit Stacey was talking about is in the jelly aisle at the regular grocery store. I ate greek yogurt very early out and mixed a teaspoon of sugar free fat free pudding mix such as cheesecake flavor and a tablespoon of sugar free davinci raspberry syrup and it tasted like raspberry cheesecake. It tasted yummy to me back then.
I have added protein powder to the 0% greek yogurt. I've used the fruity flavors and loved it! I now make the cheesecake version. Find some SF cheesecake and no sugar added cherry pie filling. yummy. I also have used the SF jelly - that's yummy too.
At this point of your journey I wouldn't be added too much sugar to your diet yet.
