Do you ever get used to the new amount to buy?  I have my frig full, my cabnets full, my pantry full and my freezer full.  I like left overs but I am still cooking way to much to use the leftovers before they need to be discarded.  All of what I have is good stuff, healthy, just too much.  Even eatting 5 x a day, I can't get rid of all of it.

It took me about 6 months to get the hang of it. That first 3 months, I had so many leftovers in the fridge!

Glad to know it isn't just me.  My DH had always accused me of cooking for an army, even when it is just the 2 of us.  Now I am trying to cook for him with a tiny amount for me, and still have leftovers.

I have started making a half recipe of any recipe I make. there is plenty for DH and me for one meal and not so much left over. I have also made one fourth of a recipe if necessary. We often cook just one large chicken breast and half it,cook a filet steak and half that,Along with plenty of healthy sides ffor DH.

At 8 mos out,I am begining to be able to recalculate how much of this and that I will need ffor two weeks at the grocery and am not overbuying like I used to.

You might try buying much less than you think you will need with the thought in mind that you can always go back to the store if you run out.

I feel your pain Price!!  I still throw out a lot of food on the weekend.  I try to cook 1 or 2 things on the weekend and eat it all week the next week for lunch & supper and still have some left the next weekend.

Price, I so feel your pain. I had it down pretty good with just the boy and me because remember my honey left for deployment when I was 3 months out...soooo....took a bit of adjusting to that...THEN of course once it was down to a science the hubby comes back and the older boy moves back in. So, I'm back to the beginning.

We learn as we go huh.  I'm going to try real hard this upcoming week.

I think I need to just stop going at all for a while.  I made a meatloaf for supper for me, my son who is home for the weekend and DH.  I just put half of it away.  I'm hoping I can get the guys to make meatloaf sandwiches for lunch tomorrow.  Even cooking just one veggie a night, I end up with several in the fridge.  I love it when Roz says, "good variety" and I'm just tring to get rid of the leftovers, VBG.
