So guys...I am working on my very last 7 or 8 pounds...I am determined to lose them but it's really slow...even when the calories and carbs are low...carbs under 40 ...calories about 1100 a day tops and excercise an hour a day...four days a week...running...the scale does not move...did it take awhile for you guys? should I go anorexic and go back to 800 tops a day...I get too hungry and weak if I do...please advise...will it come off eventually? I just want to get it off...let me know how it was for you when you were getting to  your final goal...my height is 5' 8" and my weight is 148...my doctor says 140...final number...I'm comfortable with that but it's HARD!....any words would help...I know some will say that it's only a number but it's my number and if I will have a bounce back it's the number I need to get to before I start maintenance...thanks...SEAVIEW

What is your protien intake?  How often are you eating?  Are you finishing your day with a protien shake?  Maybe you can try changing up your exercise routine?  I've been reading that if you vary your daily caloric intake that will help as well.  So say you are eating 1100 cals/day the days you aren't working out you would drop your caloric intake but the days you work out you would increase it with a weekly average of 1100 cals......ezinearticles.com/  This article explains it  Here is a calculator to help if you want to try it. www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

well heres where i say all that  eating  fatty cheese and  " low carby" recipes  catches up with U ...because  people have bad habits , little to no malabsorption anymore ( if they ever  did ) the body has  gotten over its initial shock and is holding onto every calorie ...

this is why  I personally say  dont eat the low carb high fat recipes unless U want have a body forever  like the person whos cooking them .

What I personally would  do is the model / actress diet - NO FAT  , 8glasses  of water a day ,

fat through supplements  only , a flaxseed oil , a n  evening primrose capsule a day ,  2 chitosans before any restaurant meals or  any meals in anyone elses kitchen  or anywhere else -

lean protein first , veggies preferably almost raw , fruit, whole grains , thats it

Air popped popcorn 4 snax

Ull lose weight .  partcularly if U work out every day .   But U KNOW  all this  U WERE  a model - URE the LAST  person I  need to tell this to ....

;(  maybe U need OA  ?  just to get willing ... and happy with Ur abstinence ?  I know I did! Love and Hugs   Ava

Everybody's bodys are different. I kicked up my food intake and started eating carbs and fruit and I am dropping like crazy. Dropped 9 lbs between my 10-11 month out.  My body seems to like the swing. I'm finally at 149 and my goal is 145...although it was once 160.

thanks for your responses...I had a long hot bath and a talk with myself....I realized I have been eating store bought meatloaf for my protein which has bread crumbs  and hidden goodies in it...
also I have been eating red meat in the form of hamburger ...steak... which has too much fat...
also peanut butter which is fine but I put it in my protein shake and it just makes for too many calories...I am going to go back to eating very clean and see if there is a difference...then I can try other stuff if that doesn't work...but I have a feeling that's the key....I just needed to be honnest with myself and look at my food...I am going to have to start tracking at some point...I 'm just not writing it down....so I may have to recommit to charting the food....SEAVIEW

Yes, everyone is different and you do have to be honest with yourself. That is the most amazing part of this journey. At least I think. When we face our trials, no matter the size, and we face the with utmost honesty we can only then start the true troubleshooting and resolve the issues.

I agree with you on the processed food. that is a sleeper of a wrench in any lifestyle. I don't think we should look at diets per se because diets is what got us to where we were preop...at least some...not all.

I agree with Melissa and that the body needs variation at times...this week my body needed protein shakes and little food. There are sometimes where it needs that carb to break the rut. Be kind to your body...don't go too low in calories that you are not at goal. Our body has an idea where it is most comfortable at. I thought I would be fine at 138-140...I am at 130 today. I have not done anything different and at times been naughty with the snacks. Listen to your body and your mind and your heart.

You are right when you say to track what you eat. If I were going to give you 3 tips...

#1 track everything (good bad and ugly) use whatever method you feel most comfy with but track...

#2 drink at least 64oz of water daily (more the better especially if you take in caffeine daily like me...ounce for ounce replenish before you start counting the 64oz)...dehydration is a b*tch and can wreak havoc on the body and scale

#3 focus on quality protein first (65g minimum of course...I shoot for 100g) Always take in protein first on meals then if you have room, take carbs, fruit, etc. I shoot for 65g with my protein shakes alone. Anything above that in food is a bonus.

I hope you stay tuned in for the support...you gots lots of great peeps here!!
