Its Friday!!!! time for a "just for fun" post
Everyone is welcome to chime in here. Whether you are just thinking about having WLS or you're a 10 yr post op.
1.) What's your least favorite household chore?
2.) What's your favorite type of exercise?
3.) Challenges/Victories this week?
4.) Plans for the weekend?
My answers:
1.) What's your least favorite household chore? Ummmm... all of them? lol Ok, if I have to pick just one, I would say cleaning the bathroom.
2.) What's your favorite type of exercise? I alternate my exercises between treadmill, lifting weights, & Zumba. I would have to say that Zumba is my favorite.
3.) Challenges/Victories this week? The darn scale STILL hasnt moved. I havent had a stall like this since I was 3 weeks out. Im beginning to wonder if this is actually a stall or if my body is saying "Ive had enough". But I will keep doing what Im supposed to do and see what happens. Victories - I did increase my fluids again. I had been lacking in that dept.
4.) Plans for the weekend? Absolutely nothing!!! Looking forward to a weekend where I can lounge around in my PJs if I choose to. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Cindy

1.) What's your least favorite household chore?
Laundry! I hate it....I'd prefer to just buy new clothes rather than wash the ones I have.....hmmm maybe if I stopped buying new clothes I'd have less laundry.....
2.) What's your favorite type of exercise?
I love leg presses.....I have since I was a teenager, they make me feel so powerful!
3.) Challenges/Victories this week?
I spent this week trying to find anyone who could help me figure out how to exercise and eat to have the body of a figure competitor, I never thought finding out some basic information would be so difficult. That said I did find out Ava is a personal trainer and she's offered to help me get started. I've decided to purchase a coworkers home gym to help the process along as well. My biggest victory of all this week has been reconnecting with OH and my LW friends! I realized I really NEED you guys!
4.) Plans for the weekend?
Tommorow I'm taking my 14 year old and her friend to an informational session for an arts high school. I'll be cleaning today and maybe putting out some holiday decorations by the end of the weekend!

1.) What's your least favorite household chore?
Cleaning kitchen cupboards, you never know what's going to creep outta there (j/k).
2.) What's your favorite type of exercise?
I wish I had one, but the only one that I do is the treadmill, so I guess that's it. I would like to try Zumba but there is none in my small town.
3.) Challenges/Victories this week?
Trying to get back on track a bit. I've slid up a couple of lbs and want to nip it in the bud right away. Victories, I have being trying to low carb it as well as get back on the treadmill.
4.) Plans for the weekend?
None, other than a little cooking for my kids to bring back to university. I love weekends with no plans, but something inevitably comes up.
Thanks Cindy and have a good weekend everyone!

Good Morning Everyone! These posts are so much fun. Thank you Cindy.
1.) What's your least favorite household chore? Vacuuming. I absolutely hate it. Unfortunately so does my DH. Used to assign it to one of the kids but with the empty nest it is up to me now.
2.) What's your favorite type of exercise? Definitely running. I really need to make myself do some strength training and other types of cardio but never actually string more that once or twice together.
3.) Challenges/Victories this week? My challenge this week is to keep my calories down under what I am burning. My running is tapering off in preparation for the race so my burn will be less. Theoretically I will be less hungry. I just have to listen to my body. Victory this week was running 12 miles. I was really sore afterward.
4.) Plans for the weekend? Major cleaning and organization. We are actually getting a dumpster and thinning out twenty years of junk. I am hoping to purge like I have never purged before. DH and I both tend to be pack rats. I don't want to have all of this stuff still here when we decide to move in several years. (at retirement). Wish me luck in not thinking things are to valuable or precious to keep. I really need on of those TV shows like Clean House to come help.

Or, you could get one of your friends to come over and help? I've learned from those shows that one of the most important things is objectivity when trying to decide what to let go of - someone who doesn't own the stuff and can ask "do you REALLY need this?" is incredibly helpful.
Do you have such a person?

1.) What's your least favorite household chore?
ALL OF THEM. The one I mind the least is polishing the silver or the copper. I really love to see the transformation.
2.) What's your favorite type of exercise?
Dancing! I think they wrote this song about me (even though it came out before I was born)...
3.) Challenges/Victories this week?
TOM started 2 weeks early with a vengeance, thus slowing/stopping my loss. (please wait while I throw a tantrum...) I never have much energy in that week, but I've been forcing myself to exercise anyway. So, while I'm not seeing happy things on the scale, I'm still seeing happy changes in my shape/body. That's a victory, I suppose.
The big victory is that we raised thousands of dollars for Habitat for Humanity last night at my church! The 20s & 30s group threw a beautiful fundraiser, and it was thought-provoking, the food was delicious (and healthy!) and everyone loved it. I'm really proud of the group.
4.) Plans for the weekend?
Working Saturday and Sunday - again. Today's my day off. I think I'll take a nice, long walk with the doggie and head up out of town for this. It's a very WLS-friendly activity, I'd say... Then back in time to go to my new ballet class with my old ballet teacher - we've become good friends.

That is so neat about Habitat for Humanity - it was founded in the town I live in. Some of the offices are still here, but I think a lot of them have moved to larger cities.
They have a really neat village set up here that you can walk through and see all types of housing for the different countries. If you ever get down this way, look me up!!

Thanks, Linda! That's really cool!
I love that organization - it really changes lives here in NYC. They've built over 200 housing units in the past few years, and they're adding another 200 in the next 2. Housing here is so interesting because we're so densely packed and there's only a 2.something vacancy rate across the city. It's even lower when you're looking for affordable housing (say, under $2500/month for a one-bedroom apartment.)
So in NYC their builds are all multi-unit sites. Last time we were working on a 41-unit site. They received 10 THOUSAND APPLICATIONS for the 41 units. Affordable housing is such a deep need here that Habitat really tries to fill - however vast the problem. I'm really grateful to them for that!
I will definitely look you up if I'm ever down that way!
