follow up from docs appt today
Ok, so this morning was my appt with my bariatric surgeon to see if there is a surgical hernia from the abdominal repair I had 15 years ago (mesh repair). He said he couldn't definitively determine if there was a hernia. He said that the abdominal wall is thin and that could contribute to the feelings and symptoms I have been experiencing. He said there could be one but he can't really feel it and without going in laproscopic and with a camera and inspecting, he can't see/feel anything.
I even took pics of what I affectionately call the little alien in motion and how my tummy does become contorted and bubbly and he said that sometimes that is normal and sometimes with thin abs muscles people will feel the movement of the bowels.
*sigh* so, I asked him if pinching and bruising feeling is normal with what he described and he said yes it can be. So, now I am in a state of confusion. I don't know what's normal anymore since this body is new to me and very well abused and used...lol So I am figuring out how it all works now.
He did say if it gets worse, check back and we'll take it from there.
What are your thoughts? I'm thinking I want to have plastic surgery around this time next year and with the tummy tuck have them go in and tighten the muscles and then of course if there is any repair needed they will take care of it. So I will just keep an eye on it and only go in if there is a clearer indication of trouble (kinked bowels, nausea, double over pain, etc) I will be exercising with compression girdles so...not sure what else to do at this point.
That's it for me and the updates on my tummy tum. I weighed in at 132 on their scales which is a 1 lb loss from 2 weeks ago so that's kewl especially when the munchie monster and I had a torrid affair last night! LOL
Have a great day LW's...

Doesn't it drive you crazy that they haven't developed a medical tricorder like they had in Star Trek 40-something years ago? Do you have daily issues with this alien? Hoping things hold together until you're ready for your tummy tuck.

Yes it drives me crazy...lol no Star Trek technology...jeesh what is with that?? LOL
Yes, the alien arrives daily. Depending on the day it can get intense or mild other can see it if I point it out.... I have had what I call a stitching or pinching pain in that area maybe every 3rd or 4th day usually in the afternoons/evenings and when standing or walking. Makes me stop for sure. Can feel bruisy feeling daily. He said that was normal....
I don't want to seem like a whiney baby to them. So I guess I wait and hold off...???

Hopefully you won't have to get anything down until you are ready to tighten things up. My Mom got a tummy tuck when she got her hernia repaired and the insurance covered it all.
