11 days to go....
I am on day 4 of my pre-op liquid diet. Not too bad so far. I've lost 5 pounds since Sunday night! I had a really hard time with the first few protein powders I tried, thankfully I had gotten samples that I used the first day, and on day 2 I had my nut & fitness appointment at my surgeon's office. They have their own brand of protein- Bariatric Fusion, it's a little expensive, but well worth it. It's so much thinner, and lighter, and less sweet than others I tried, and it doesn't have that weird smell. And, their unflavored protein really is unflavored to me! At my appointment they made us a shake with strawberry protein powder, a couple strawberries, some yogurt, and milk- it was pretty tasty.
I am finding ways to add more protein to things as I go along, and getting a little more inventive too. As my nut said- it's important to make things taste good. So, I will add spices to stuff accordingly.
I have my pre-op tests at the hospital tomorrow, and my clearance appointment with my PCP on Monday. Then I just have to focus on getting my house together, and getting the hubby ready- showing him how to pack the kids lunches and feed the fish & cat, stuff like that. We're seeing Harry Potter on opening night next Friday, so that will be a nice last outing with the kids before my surgery too. Thankfully I am not a big popcorn eater, or I'd be in trouble!
