Post-op woes.....
I had my revision from lapband to RYN exactly one week ago today. My surgery went well for the most part. Unfortunately I experienced a lot of post-op bleeding through the drain. The first night was horrible as my drain was filling to capacity every hour. My red blood count was actually okay at this point. The blood loss continued over the next few days and my blood count continued to decline. I felt so weak and miserable. I cried everyday asking myself why I did this. By Saturday morning my count was down to 23.5. My surgeron, who was absolutely amazing during all of this seeing me twice a day, didn't want to give me a transfusion unless I got to 21. He said that although the transfusion would make me feel 100 times better it comes with its own set of risks and that's not something he wanted to put me through unless absolutely necessary.
By Saturday afternoon I began feeling better and by Sunday morning my blood had gone back up to the 25's. I was discharged the same day and have been resting at home since. Everyday I feel a little bit better. My drain was removed before I came home and I haven't had any oozing or bleeding from that site since. My post-op visit is on Friday. I still have moments of regret but my husband keeps reminding me of how great I'm going to feel in 6 months! My pre-op weight was 226 and this morning I'm at 211.
Thanks for reading! Best wishes to you all!!!!

Awwww Jenn, I'm sorry you've had such a rough first week. Hang in there and it really will get better. I'm so glad you have a supportive husband to remind you that this is just a bump in the road.
Take care and let us know how you're doing please.
