I can't lose weight!!!
Eliminate your carbs, if you drink soda or anything else go to water... water water water and then more water...and some milk, of course. Eat your main meal at lunch... and have a protein drink or something light for dinner. Get some walking in every day...the pounds will melt away!

Did your surgeon's office give you a diet to follow? The program that I went through required a 10% loss of weight prior to surgery and gave us a 1200 cal/day protein based diet to follow. Eliminate all white carbs and sugar. Just get carbs from veggies and some fruit.
What helped me the most was weighing and measuring my food and using an online tracking tool. The first two weeks that I did this, I lost 3 lbs each week.
Like it was said - eliminate your processed carbs - keep it under 30g a day. Track your food on fitday.com or livestrong.com. You'll need to do this after surgery anyway. Its a real eye opener as to what you're putting in your mouth.
Measure your food. Eat 1 cup of dense protein. Let it sit. Don't drink with your meals, and get all your water in. This is also good practice for after surgery.
You can do it! Its crucial you do - you want this surgery!

I wasn't able to lose the 9lbs in needed to lose before surgery....ok I didn't do the work.....BUT my surgeon put me on a strict liquid diet the week before surgery....I cheated a couple of times too.....I know I'm bad....and not setting the best example....ANYWAY.....the diet he had me on was protien shakes only......4 or 5 shakes a day(can't recall).....minimum 20g protien...no more than 100Cals per shake (UNJURY fit his recommendations)....and walking 2x per day for minimum 1/2 hour. I lost 12 lbs in 4 days......Not the BEST way but it got me where I needed to be. I did indulge and eat one REAL meal a day too. Maybe you could follow this plan to "flush out" your system and get started with a GOOD diet plan after. WOW reading this now....I am such a bad influence.......lol Everyone elses advice is more on point.....

In my thousands of diet attempts, high protein-low carb gets the FASTEST results!! Stock up on low-fat cheeses and meats, cottage cheese, yogurt, nuts, etc. Substitute a protein shake or bar for one meal if you can......
I would LOG my food for the next month (including any CHEAT items...) this will show your NUT that you did make a full attempt even if you don't reach the full 10 pounds! I bet everything will turn out fine!!!
Best wishes!!!
