Ok, so now I have started AGAIN!!! It has been like this now for about 2 years and the Dr and I have just thought it was all the excess weight, I have lost 30 pounds and would think that I would be somewhat back to normal.... HECK NO! 2 weeks early again... Ok the question is, what form of Birth Control can I take in order to control this? Can I have the pill or does it have to be something else?

******NOTE*******
Do not need the birth portion just the control portion, no chances of pregnancy here...That has been taken care of.

I have taken b.c. pills FOREVER to have control...  I take Sprintec and it is a daily pill.  Love it.  Helps my skin, too.  Not so much for anxiety... sometimes they can affect your mood.

I was looking into the Essure procedure but have a nickle (sp?) allergy so that won't work...You might want to investigate that.  I'm not sure if it would be a solution for you???

Good luck!

Have you called your GYN? I do know that the surgery and rapid weight loss can mess up cycles too.

Can't give you any advice regarding what to take. Mine didn't really get affected...

I was told I was to young to start menopause, I am 35 ( eaarly enough for me though) I had a pap right before surgery and it was with my Primary doc, havent seen a gyn for about 5 years ( had an IUD removed it caused alot of problems too)
I posted 2 years but now that I think about it, it is at least 5. Never went back to normal after my last pregnancy ( reason for IUD) Had excessive bleeding with it and had it removes. DH had *snip snip*, no need for it ever or so I thought. I have an appt for wed, maybe we can resolve it or even get a referral for a gyn.

Definitely start with seeing the gyn. Just to make sure all is well and then you can get the pill the ring or whatever would be the best fit for you.
I would not be happy seeing aunt flo twice a month! Ughh!!

If you are just wanting to regulate your cycle and don't need the birth control then I would talk to your GYN about having the Novasure procedure done.  http://www.novasure.com/  Novasure is just one of the brand names.  But what it is, is a uterine ablation procedure.  I am 43.  I think I had it done like 5 years ago.  It was one of the best things I ever did.  I never had another period.  As long as you are through having kids, there really isn't any reason not to do it.  My doctor is a man and a very good friend.  He recommended after being on the pill for years just to regulate my cyle.  I asked him if he knew if it made a difference with the pms, etc.  His reply was that (at the time) he hadn't been doing them long enough to really say for sure, but just speaking as a man he thought you'd have to be in a better mood, just by the sheer fact that you didn't have to go through all that it entailed every month. lol.  You still ovulate every month, but honestly, most of the time I couldn't even tell you what time of the month I would be cycling if I still were.  No pms, no nothing for me.  I finally convinced my sister to get it done.  She's 6 years post op RNY and had lots of problems bruising and being tired all the time.  Her cycle was irregular and very heavy so her iron was in the toilet.  It has helped her tremendously.

Just my experience...your mileage may vary.

"her iron was in the toilet"?  Was that pun intended?  Even though it's a serious situation, I had to chuckle at that one...
