Sick and Tired of TOM!!! Need BC advice..TMI

I just read where you said your DH had the *snip*snip*.  I started to say something about that in my original reply but didn't want it to come out wrong.  The fact that you have not had your tubes tied means technically you could still get pregnant, of course not with DH, but you know what I mean... Trust me there is a point to what I'm trying to say.  With the uterine ablation, you can still conceive, but it is very, very dangerous because there is no longer a lining on the uterine wall for it to attach to so I believe you risk a tubal or eptopic pregnancy.  All of this is irrelevant it sounds like in your current situation, but I thought I should mention it.

My situation is similar in that my DH has also had a vasectomy, but he is 25 years older than me too.  God forbid anything were to happen to him and I find myself widowed... But if it did and I hadn't gone through menopause yet, birth control would have to be a consideration if I were to have another partner.

I hope that wasn't too personal, but it is something to think about...especially since you are a few years younger.

Julie,
I know exactly what you are saying, I have 4 children now and really do not want anymore EVER! Noone could ever replace the ones I have, even if something bad happened to the child or my husband. Although I would not want a tubal or eptopic, I would be ok not having any more the rest of my life.
The only reason I did not get my tubes tied, is because the Doctors were afraid to do it. I am a carrier of Von Willebrands Disease and they did not want to chance it ( have no clue what they were thinking, except it is Military insurance and most are younger than I am, so no experience)
So he decided to get it done.
If they bring up the idea, we will look into it.
Also NO it is not too personal, I personally dont care, just tired of bleeding constantly.

Oh, I don't have anything productive or helpful to add EXCEPT that I understand us RNYers need to be careful with birth control pills because the absorption issue might make them less effective.  I realize you don't need it for BC, but still, this might help you in your research...

Thats what I was thinking, something to do with absorption and not sure how effective it would be. Will just have to wait and see what happens and what they reccommend.
Thank you so much

Stacey, having gone through menopause almost 10 years ago, I'm not help with opinions because I haven't had reason to keep up with new products.  I just wanted to say that I'm glad you're seeing your doctor and hope you come up with a good solution so that you're free of this problem.
