Holiday Challenge - November 7th

Cindy, those crazy weekends happen.  Isn't it amazing to say it's Monday, the weekend is over, back to the healthy routine and know that it will last past noon?   Do you remember all those "Monday" diets that lasted maybe until 10am and then it was back into the feed bin?

Good job Cindy!  Let's both get that scale moving this week!

Hi Lee,
I am actually farther away from my goal by 2 pounds..  I have not been drinking the fluids like I normally do.  Still getting in 70 ozs but I usually do 100 or more.  I have also had a problem with carbs the last part of the week and weekend.

I know I did not eat enough to really gain 2 pounds so I'm pretty sure it is just that I am low on the fluids and no exercise other than chasing DGD's around.  I know I need to get back on the exercise wagon.  It really makes me feel so much better.

Oh well, enough whining - it is a new week and I'm going to do better!!

I love clothing victories - congratulations on yours!!

Linda, you're so close to your goals.  Everyone says the last few pounds are the most difficult and often see a bounce up and down a pound or three.  I think you're doing great.

Hey, chasing kids around is great exercise because you're forced to get up and down off the floor all the time.

I've been trying to up my fluids.  I'm generally around 64 oz but want to up it and see what happens, so let's guzzle together this week.

Morning Lee!

Can I just say how HELPFUL this challenge is to me?  I woke up morning and started to plan the details of my day, and this challenge is shaping how I do things. I think I'm more goal-oriented than I realized, and I should keep that in mind when, one day, I go into maintenance.

Anyway, I was thinking about all I needed to accomplish, and thought - "and I want to lose 3-4 lbs this week, so which dance class do I want to take tonight?" (I'll answer that question on the fitness thread).  Point is, the holiday challenge is a major part of my decision matrix now, and all of your support and encouragement and parallel experiences are fueling me on, for sure.

Thanks for starting this, Lee.  Your suggestion is making a real difference in my life!

Way to go Rosa!!  I love that you're planning things with goals in mind.  I want to start doing more of that and today's the best day to start so thanks for making my morning!!

For me the challenge is both the chiropractor and the time change.  I generally walk to work but this morning have to drive because of my 8am chiro appointment.  That means I lose 3 miles of walking so I have to get into the gym tonight after Weigh****chers to account for that.  Makes for a longer day but I'm so worth it.   I'll check the fitness thread to see what classes you decide on.  :)

Hi Lee!

I hit my Holiday Challenge goal last week, but don't think I've maintained it. I have't been getting either my water nor protein in like I should.

Think I may be retaining some water from the surgery - I've got some swelling going on. I'm not going to fret about it for now.

I'm getting back on track today. NO exercise for now. Probably will be a few weeks.

Jody, that's so incredible that you hit your holiday challenge!  You really put work into that carb cutting.  Kudos to you!

How are you feeling after the surgery?  The swelling will go down and any fluid retention along with it.

I think you're a rock star!

Hi Lee, all...

Well, no weight loss this week, even bounced up a lb!!! (168) I am not going to get discouraged though.  I am probably in another stall.  They are coming more frequently now.  I would still like to see 154-160 by my birthday, 12/27,but can't see me changing anything from what I am doing right now.....I may have to cut my carbs at some point and go on the Atkins type diet again, like pre-op.  But for now my plan is to just hold tight and keep doing what I have been doing.

Congrats LWs on all the NSVs and WL this week.
We will be out of town again for a 4 day weekend Th-Sun, sometimes it is easier to stay on track eating out, sometimes harder, depends on resterant options available.  I'll try to do the best I can.  Until next week...yawl be safe and GOOD LOL!!!

Jane, you just hang tight and things will flow for you.

Where are you going out of town?  Will you get in some walking wherever you are?  I understand what you mean about restaurant eating.

Have a great weekend.

We are going to a sectional bridge tournament in Birmingham, AL, about 3.5 hr from Mphs.  Will be sitting at the bridge table from 9a-10:30p everyday!!  I will work out with my trainer Thurs a.m. before we leave though.

Hanging tough...yes, hope the flow continues, it has in the past, but somehow I think I may have jinked myself (LOL), because I couldn't decided if I really wanted to loose any more weight.  Now that I have decided I do want to, I hope "the universe" will cooperate. LOL.  I know you know about slow loosing, and I hope that this is all it is or another stall.  I'm gonna give it another 2-3 weeks doing what I have been doing before I get drasstic....low carb.  NUT really wants me to stay around 100gm carbs a day, and my usual diet I get 80-100, so I am on target as far as she is concerned, but if the scales don't move in a few weeks, I may have to increase protein and cut carbs...will just give it some time for now.

Have a good week!!
