what is a lightweight?

Hello, Unsure what a lightweight is? I have read this forum a few times, however this is my first post here.

I am 54 years young, have 3 grown sons and 4 grandchildren, I hail from the great state of Oklahoma! I am having RNY done Nov 9th.

Welcome, Anita!  

It's great to have you here.  

If you scroll back a bit in the history, you'll see the "Lightweights Creed" and that explains what this board is all about.  

Generally speaking, it means that you have a starting BMI of around 35 to 40 ish.  But anyone who is interested in being here is welcome.

Welcome, lots of grandparents on this board so we will demand pictures.  Actually, we have a little of everyone on the board, we just started out closer to goal that some of our friends.

I was 54(almost 55) when I had surgery and have done great.
