His use of the English language is devoid of almost all prepositions and articles as well as many forms of the verb "to be." His slang—"babee," "shudup"—is impeccable. "Why they listen me and nobody else and ask me behave? What is behave? Every player like this, not only me, babee. We all nervous, all temperament, all crazy."

I'm headed to High Point to do something I thought I'd never be doing. I am chaperoning the MIss USA, NC pagent. Little country girl me who has never been interested in dressing up or make up or anything in that arena. I was always at a horse show, not a pagent. I gave myself permission on my 50th Bday to stop wearing makeup. Oh well, a friend and I were asked because we had experience herding kids through pony club rallies so here we go. At least I have a friend to go with. Actually, it will be fun, I hope. I will get to wear my new size, thrift store clothes and show off my new figure (althought they won't know it's new). Anyway, we'll give it a go.

Also, if you've been out of practice with makeup for a while, there is ABSOLUTELY NO SHAME in heading over to your local department store and asking them to show you how to do it. OR, if you have a friend who's good at it, ask the friend to help.
